Hi Pj how tall are you?
Sorry for all the post, this as turned into more of a mind field then i was expecting...The bottom line! these are my options in Southampton (other then the fuji)
1)Specialized langster £399
3)Charge £400
4)Doyle complete bike with kadet frame £475
5)Kona paddy wagon £450
5)Fuji £270and the wildcard Specialized Tricross Single £450
I now want to get up and cycling, but want the bike with the best frame, things eventually wear out and i can upgrade as i go along..I'm aware my threads changed slightly, but just want to get this right. So best frame of the bunch, thks and sorry for boring ur all aj

Well the plot thickens, unknown to me theres a guy selling Dolan in Southampton, popped in this morning..He said i'm definitely a 54 (55 max) Tried a Dolan track bike which was 54 and it felt nice £475 full bike (minus the seat & pin as i have them)..So now its either the fuji, dolan or the parts for my frame which would run close to £250.
One other thing he was a great guy very helpful, took is time said he had a frame in each size, so no skin of his teeth if i wanted to go bigger..
I'm leaning towards the dolan what you think?

Hi really Turpe?? I tried a 54 in the langster, which felt great, the next size up felt to high..I popped into a few shops and tried different bikes, seems i'm in between 54-56 depending on what company,i use to ride a 17 gary fisher mtb for what its worth..
I was reading the geo for the Fuji track, said the stand over size for the 54 is 788.3,the 56 is 807.4 and the 58 is 853.7(higher then my inside leg) ..I'm 5ft 11 & 31-32 inside leg, got a long torso..Have the size changed that much from 2007? I do prefer a smaller bike, but not to the point it looks like a clowns bike lol..

Hi thks for the replies,i guess i knew the answers would be its variable, lol we all need a little validation ;-)
One thing i don't know is what the R100 frame was like,no details on the frame online, only their R500 & R600,anyone remember anything about the R100?? The drop outs a slight pain its 13cm instead of 12cm,is that a major issue for complete track wheels?

Hi ive been thinking of building a single speed, ive been running for around a year and just want to change my exercise, i use to ride a lot and i'm keen to get into single speed/fixed..
So far ive have a few items a really cheap Raleigh R100 frame (not sure if that frames any good,i know its not a track frame), a Thompson elite post 27.2 and a Bioflex seat..
But ive see a few complete bikes, which make me wonder if thats the way to go, and upgrade as i go along...One seller as a Fuji track for £270,another a Langster for £399...Just wondering what most people think of the Fuji for a first single/fixed...Would the post and seat i brought be a upgrade for the Fuji, or would i need to sell them? Or should i hold out for a better frame and build a track bike slowly...The Fuji a 54 i think,, i'm 5ft 11 but with a longer body...
thks in advance and sorry for the neebie question! aj
Hi cheers dog i tried a specialized 54 & 56 at the weekend, and the 56 was great 54 felt a little squashed, just a little put off by all the anti specialized post ;-)..
Is the vitus a fair prize? My other concern was my weight i'm 90kg fit but big..edit are the newer vitus still bonded ?
