I disagree that art cannot come in a form that is "useful", or at least that the boundary is not so clear cut. I think it can be argued, at least, that design has artistic merit, as does architecture and I am sure there are others not mentioned here. WHat is key is the creative effort that went in to the design of the building, object, painting....etc. rather than a requirement for the piece to be useles to be considered "art".

No idea how the ding appeared. Just noticed riding from West to play football in Vicky park that I got a puncture. Stopped, fixed the puncture and thirty seconds later same again happened. I was in a rush, so ended up buying a new wheel from BLB! When I got back to check it, at the point where the two "ends of the rim meet one side is dinged in about a mil. I imagine it was this that was causing the tyres to misbehave. Anyway, your welcome to pass your eye over it. I was going to give it a go myself, but have been too busy (too lazy) to actually sit down and nudge it back.
I live west, and work central if you want to check it.

Can anyone let me know why toward the end of each thread, say the last 10 or so comments, I lose the first few words. It seems to be that the words begin before the page does? The scroll bar (left to right) is as far as possible to the left.
Normally I grin and bear it, but the Hacked thread had me in tears and I wanted to see the closing comment!!
Thanks all

I am sure I must be being an idiot, but my rear axle keeps slipping. Even on a short 10 minute ride, I can feel the tension leave the chain (Post my now daily tighening) leaving it feeling slack and unresponsive. I bought some new nuts, thinkng the previous ones were dodgy, and cleaned up the axle / dropouts etc but the problem persists!
Anyone with any thoughs??

I've run a 48 - 18 since I bought my first fixed last year, and want to get a 46 or even 44 tooth to compare. Would prefer to get a black chainring / crank combo anyway and have seen the sugino messenger or the Paul chainring / crank on various websites. If I am currently running an Ambrosio ring, is there any reason why I wouldn't be able to change over to one of the above myself. Are there any incompatibility issues I need to be aware of etc.??

Not sure, would say welded at a guess, and from my memory of swearing at it in the rain on saturday. It looked like it had taken a knock right on the joint, and pushed one side in by a small amount. The indent is probably about 1cm along the diameter and about 1 or 2mm indented.
I'll give it some TLC this week to see if I can get it back ship shape. Bought a new wheel on sat anyway, so can at least continue moving!
All comments gratefully recieved!
Thanks,
You can get them at a store on Gloucester Road. I have looked at them a few times, not sure how much though. I imagione they dont come cheap enough for me to want to buy a pair.
