If anyone's around in Brighton or fancies a ride down there on Saturday we're putting on a street fashion show as part of the White Nights Festival. There's going to be loads of other things going on too as the city stays open until 2 AM to celebrate the turning back of the clocks.
Hopefully see some of you there!!

Skullhead I got an official notice telling us the road will be closed next thursday, shoved through my letterbox, cool! THAT was from tower hamlets. They got the road, Hackney got the park. Wierd.
Hackney & Tower Hamlets are working together on the project as the boarders are so close and we want encouraging more people to cycle to be a London wide project anyway! Sorry for the confusion... Any more questions let me know and I will check it out for you with the relevant people :)

big mummy smeear been meaning to ask if people are up for playing some polo on the 14th during the fashion show, heels and wheels
Still think this is a good idea as long as it doesn't distract people from the actual show so would be best to do it either before or after but will have to all be checked..? (and Smeear, you and I and the rest of the Wheels and Heels peeps will be too busy for game playing until after I'm afraid (!)

photoben My girlfriend said at the weekend that "she's not really interested in Valentines day". So you think she'll be fine with me dragging her along to the the two events on that night? ;-)
I think she'll love it - she gets to see a fab fashion show and you get to be around lots of bikes! Perfect!!

Wheels & Heels: The New Season’s Accessories
Columbia Road boutiques to open for one exciting night of high fashion as the East London Flower Market transforms into a catwalk for cycle style as part of London Fashion Week.
On Thursday, 14 February at 6pm, local independent talent and established designers will shine a new light on cycle fashion, with the designs on the catwalk just as at home on the high street as on a bike. Brands on show will include established talent such as Dashing Tweeds and Saville Row's, Jan Cicmanec, alongside up and coming designers such as Smeear and Archies Gro Bags.
The show, which will feature tricks and bicycle ballet by the likes of Paddy Waters alongside glamorous models on beautiful bikes, choreographed by Robyn Simpson, promises to wow the expected crowd of around 2,000 people including London’s fashion pack.
Emily Fleuriot, Editor of Fashion Monitor says in response to the event:
'There's definitely a common misperception that you can't be stylish and cycle. You can - but it's a challenge. As one of fashion's bicycle enthusiasts I welcome all pioneers of functional, style-conscious clothes, which mean I can cycle AND look the part, whether at a hot showbiz party or a business meeting.'
The event is the brain child of Hackney Council and Tower Hamlets Council who aim to achieve a greater uptake of cycling by women by demonstrating how cycling can influence a girl’s wardrobe in a positively un-lycra but completely runway fashion.
For further information about the designers and the event, please contact Amy Fleuriot, Cyclodelic, on 078 8293 9905 or info@cyclodelic.co.uk or Louisa Clarke, Hackney Council, on 020 8356 8189 or louisa.clarke@hackney.gov.uk.null

Absolutely, no size zero's allowed!! And don't worry about scaring me I've already had the naked girls on bikes idea... you'll have to come along to find out!
But as much as I appreciate all your wonderful comments I really need some more designers :) ...
...However, you may also be able to help me out with bikes for the show if anyone has a beautiful one gasping for its 'catride' debut 5mins of fame?? And of course it may get to be "ridden" by a naked model ;)

Designers of cycle friendly clothing and accessories needed for 'I LOVE MY BIKE' on 14th of February. The show is going to be listed as an official London Fashion Week event. We are closing off Columbia Road in East London to put on a street catwalk style event with all models riding down the runway on bikes. This is a great opportunity for you to gain mass media coverage and promote your products and cycling to a large audience.
We are interested in challenging peoples perceptions of what 'cycle wear' is so all fresh ideas welcome...
Emerging talent and established designers wanted!!
