hi,
Having emigrated to Perth, Oz five weeks ago and problems with the IRO shipment at Cavandish taking ages, I had to order it direct from the manufacturer to a distant aunt in Seattle where at least she could get on her zimmer frame and help with organising a courier as those guys at IRO are Fecking useless (UPS for a zillion squid or take a hike). So far USPS won't sent as it's too big and managed to get a local company to quote $400... shit, the frame didn't cost that much and I'm poorpa anyhow. Anybody got any tips on getting a frame from the US to Australia any cheaper? I've been checking with a company called myUS.com, redirection service out of florida. Any of you guys used these?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated as sooner or later my aunt will get pissed at this bike box cluttering up her flat and hock it.
Cheers,

Hello,
Many thanks for the help over the past 2 years. I love you guys! Apart from getting excited about the Hatton fight this weekend and the possibility of Miguel Cotto battering Mayweather next year I've flogged the Fuji and been busy buying bits and pieces
for my first build. I've not had a massive amount of cash but didn't skimp on the essentials (cheers for teh tips Andy). So far i've horded the folowing...
Sugino 75 Crank and chainring
Open Pro's laced to Miche high flange (ta Arup! Great build)
Nitto Pearl stem and Nitto Drops (ta Will Hubjub)
Surly cog
Using me old spds
IRO Angus (would love something a bit special but here's where the chedderz dried up but It looks gorgeous so happy days)
Using my old tubes adn tryes although waiting for them white rubinos this summer
Here is where I'm up to. So really I need to grab a chain, seat and post, BB and headset... the last two I could use a heads up on.
Can anyone recommend a decent, reasonable priced BB and headset out there at the moment? Shit that was long winded, sorry about that! Also, what chains would you guys recommend? This is my first build so I expect to be on here a lot more than I have been over the last year. Many thanks in advance.

Anyone got any ideas for shipping a set of wheels over to Oz? Emigrating out there in June and just had a fresh pair built. Got screwed over by Emirates who now say I can't take them as part pf luggage as my visa is not a permanent entry into Australia or some shit... even though it is. The tea chests i'm using to send all the other components are just shy of the right size.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Does it sound like a terrible idea to pack them myself and just frank them at work and send via royal mail. I know the wheels are pretty bulletproof but are they royal mail proof?
Cheers guys

"couldn't have got away with the name though they ask you for ID. copper said if not he'll have to arrest me".
I know it sounds drastic but keep any photo id out your wallet and use your bank card as ID. Give the false address and presto, it'll never get back to you. Used this a few times and it's all good. Be extra polite and let the dozy cunts think they've just ruined your day while you've got your feet up in the boozer having a beer on the £30 you've saved yourself.
Also take his number down (in silver on his shoulders) and make an annomymous complaint (over your pint) that you saw this guy assulting someone, groping some young girl etc etc near where he nabbed you at that time and that you're too afraid to come forward. If they get three of thesse complaints (forgotten the complaint code) then they get it in the ass in a big way. Ruin his day and hopefuly his career and maybe... just maybe... his life

Sawe it mate. very disturbing. Not representing the Birmingham crew. I thought I was tripping when it showed his missus bringing over his dinner.
Poor geezer though.
Hammonds is a compelete twat.Who was the random guy who carts him about and decided after ten pints to tell him he was going to die if he eats another popadom?

Benanza/Andrew - yeah I know... the scumsuckers with their 500 quid limit! I reckon the plan is to blag just the BK frame and the hubs if they can. Store them for the next 6 months and when i've moved the Perth, source the other parts and start the build when i'm over there. Got the Fuji till I go and more than happy with it till then. Just didnt want to get to Oz without a British frame. Patriot!

sounds sweet benanza, looking forward to the photos. Looks like I'm going to have to buy the BJ complete with the cycle scheme. Going to get the frame and get them to build it with the cheapest components and flog them off as work is limiting me to the amount they'll let me have. At least i'll have the frame I can dash under the bed for 12 months while I source better parts and build it up from scratch.

nope, you can't get fuck all track frames here in Perth. Seeing as it's 170quid for the frame then it's worth the punt. Anydoos, going with myus.com as it's $107 but will double check. Cheers anyhow.
