im a professional photographer and have a chrome bag.i love it. i fit my Canon 5D, 16-35, and my 85 f/1.2in a timbuk2 laptop bag (I know, but a climbing buddy was sponsored by them and he gave it to me free). i Stick that inside my Chrome bag and its been fine for me here in Swansea as well as back home in Albuquerque. I love my Chrome bag, and as was mentioned above, it keeps ya only taking what you need, and not useless shit. I have no complaints about my chrome....and im picky as hell.

Well from a profesional standpoint, you get what you pay for. Simple as that. Just like with bikes, and most anything. Depending on if you have already invested on lenses or not, you will go with Nikon or Canon for a DSLR. Point and shoot cameras are a bit different. I am a professional photographer and have been shooting for nearly three years now. I have used both Nikon and Canon for my daily work, and i have to say that Canon is a bit better. Glass is usually sharper, cameras are easier to navigate, and usually the colors are more brilliant and it takes better shots in low light. It used to be that Canon was the one way in front, but Nikon has started to bridge that gap with the release of their d200, d300 and some new lens'. Its really up to you, your preference, and what you like. I have a Canon 40D, a Canon 1D, and a Panasonic DMC-FX12, and its truly an excellent camera. I do a lot of work with it, and clients wouldnt know the difference. For some occasions, (strobe work, use of WA, telophot, action...so on...) you would need a DSLR, but for events such as getting into places where huge DSLR's are not allowed, a point and shoot is the best thing you have to work with. The Panasonic i have has been beat around for nearly a year, not too concerned about it because i have my other two primary Canon cameras. Its held up to a lot. Unless you plan on doing a lot of work with it and need the specialties of a DSLR, i would purchase a point and shoot. The Cybershot S70 is a good one, as well as Casio Exlim. Canon's Elph series is probably one of the best, and closest to a DSLR. Its more expensive, and even more here in Britain.
If you are dead set on a DSLR, get the 40d or the Nikon d200. either is great, but i have the 40d and can say its truly amazing. Shares a lot of the features found in the new MArk three, for a fifth of the price!
If ya need any more help, just ask.

hahaha. ya its ugly as shit, but its because at my UNI, Swansea, people are cunts. and tend to kick in a bike left outside that are newish looking. Like all those overly priced mtn. bikes from China...and so, to avoid that, i decided to make it as ugly as possible, not caring about what it looks like. I started grinding off a few layers of the paint (its been respayed atleast three times) and then got down to the original white, and was like, "hmmm, its back to normal, leave it." It rides like a dream, and i got it all pretty much free. The drops are nice. i Keep finding sets, haha, and i cant wait to bring em back home. I have a few bikes in need of proper parts. I have four sets of bar/stem combos at the moment...and more to come. found a set of 1940's track drops and stem. steel and heavy as hell, but cool as crap. The bike has been more than good to me. I ride it into town atleast twice a day, and go for rides along the coast almost every morning at 7am to watch the sunrise. i love it. ill strip it and repaint/clean up and sell before i move back home in July, or i might send it home. im not sure. thanks guys, i thought i was the only one that liked it!

Agreed, i have a 1984 Tour de France and i converted it to fixed for my first fixed. It was built with a better tubeset than another Gitane of the same year i had. Built both bikes up with the smae components, and i could easily tell which one rode better. Look at the lugs too, if it looks cheap, it is. And will ride like a pile of crap.

lets try it again...
Hi, im Maxwell, and a student at Swansea University. Im originally from Albuquerque, NM where i was a mechanic at two bike shops. I am a trials rider at heart, but on exchange for school/photography. This fixie makes for a great way to commute and cross train. Its growing on me more and more each day. The frame was salvaged from a metal recyling plant, and all the other parts were sourced from another local shop in Swansea. Built up with good parts and cost nearly nothing. Bought the wheels and thats about it.
heres a small breakdown...
52.5cm Road frame. Had a 531 Reynolds sticker on it. Shit paint, so started to grind off, figured i would leave it looking ratty so no one nicks it! Tight but faily relaxed geometry. Matching fork.
Old school track drops and Stem
Campagnolo Chorus Headset.
Campagnolo Veloce BB
Shimano 600 Cranks, 165mm.
Campagnolo 42t chainring
Mavic Open Pro rims, DB spokes, Campagnolo Road front, Ambrosia rear. 15t Dura ace cog/ring
Brooks Saddle (worn in SO well)
Shimano 105 track pedals (switched out the MKS)
Front fender for style:) -
