like some of you on the previous page, I too was v. impressed with the Star Trek movie, which I went to see on Monday...it was a great blockbuster...in fact, I enjoyed it so much that I just dropped £50 for season one of the original series on blu-ray...also picked up The Wrestler, Waltz With Bashir, Sin City and Above the Law...God I love blu-ray

One always has to be on there toes bombin it down Brixton Hill, cunts just pulling in and out all over the place, no indicating etc....I've had a few near misses over the years!
definitely, its quick and many lanes and many different entry/exit routes...
its good people post this up, and it was good reading the what can be done to improve safety thread, as it makes you think and perhaps assess your own riding...
hope the rider is ok

I was considering this the other day, what with the recent spate of deaths...one idea in my mind was that cycle shops give for instance a booklet on staying safe on the roads to people buying a bike for the first time or who are coming back into the game after years and years out, or just all bike buyers...it might get ignored, but it might get read...
on the subject of cycle paths, that could help, but they have to be done properly, not some half assed effort with a crap design...the classic bad example for me is the Bloomsbury one - that thing creates more accidents than it helps to prevent imo...I never use it, as is my right, but then you get taxi drivers and other road users getting angry at you for taking up space when there is a cycle lane...
Also, heavier sentences for those found guilty of dangerous driving, and a greater willingness on the part of police to follow up cycling related incidents on the road
...just a few thoughts anyway
...just read wvm's post, and yeah, good points - some cyclists don't help themselves, me too on occasion no doubt

liking this by Kane & Abel...a great rap tale in the song 'Soldier Story'
Crack done took apart my family tree
My mama's on the shit
My daddy splitting
Mom's steady blaming me
Is it my fault just because i'm a young black male
The feds swept me as if kane and abel making crack sales
Only 15 and got problems
Cops on my tail so i bail til I dodge em
They finally pulled me over and I laughed
Remember rodney king and I blast on they punk ass
Now I got a murder case
You say your from the ghetto bitch you never heard a place
Trying to make some cash got a uz and a black mask
Drop the fucking task
Down goes the jack ass
Keep my shit cocked cause the cops got a glock too
What the fuck would you do?
Drop them or let em drop you
I chose dropping the cop
I got me a glock and some glocks for them niggas on my block
Mama tried to stab me I moved out
Stole a couple keys
Made g's
Bought a new house
Only 17 i'm the new king
Got me a crew hell a jewels and a uzi
But all good things don't last
Task came fast
Busted my black ass
I'm chilling in the pen facing life or death
Now my little brother wants to follow in my footstepsChorus
Buck buck
Niggas get touched don't step to this
Represent my set with this tech on a death wish
Tell em come and test
And the rest it gets hectic
Making you a speck and busters gotta exit
Walking throught the streets selling this crack shit
Packing several gats cause i'm on some pay him back shit
Niggas don't wanna try me
Bitch you'll get shot down
Now i'm packing a glock since my twin brother's locked down
I'm hot now
So many crooked cops had got shot down
5-o see me on the block and they chalk now
That's what I call a high roller
Send my brother what he needs and some weed to angola
Tell him just be ready set
Pack yo' shit up quick and when I hit be prepared to jet
Nigga from the block down to roll nigga
Every single one got a gun
Now i'm smoked nigga
These hoes about to get hit by the best
I'm wearing double vests
So aim at my fucking chest
I be making straight head shots
Touch the button on the wall you gone feel it when yo' face pop
I can still hear my mother's shout
Hit the pen abel
Break your brother kane out
I got a message for the warden
I'm coming for your ass as fast as flash gordon
We get surrounded in the mess hall
Yes y'all
A crazy motherfucker making death calls
Just bring my brother kane and we leaning
For every minute you start one of y'all bleeding
They brought my brother with a quickness
I kidnapped the cop ready for the sickness
And just as we were walking out
I caught a bullet in the head
The screams never left my mouth
My brother caught a bullet too
I think he gone pull through
He deserve to
The fast life ain't everything they told ya'
Never get much older

true...good to have both!
actually, wait, I think I am generalising from the feel of my bike to the feel of other lo pro bikes...mine has this sort of webbing in between the tubes and thus is super rigid...I have another bike with horizontal top tube, and it is not as stiff and direct as the lo pro...so I guess my thoughts are more about the feel of my bike than being in favour of the feel of lo pros generally...
-
i find them a bit odd. i understand why/how they came about and what they were used for but don't understand why people put risers on them to bring the position up to where an 'ordinary' bike would be? doing that just makes them look like noddy bikes, something designed to go fast but then with an upright position that stops you going fast!? all that trouble for some kind of aesthetic that denies the original creation it's primary function and nothing gained regarding it's form.
those moser's and cinelli's look amazing though in their enviroment but sticking bmx bars on them is a crime imhohow about a dicking of lo-pro's
man, every post! the staunchness of your opinion is to be admired for sure, but it isn't that hard to understand why people like these bikes...
There are other qualities than speed that make these bikes function nicely on the road...sometimes, its not about getting somewhere as efficiently or as comfortably as possible, sometimes you want to ride a bike that looks a bit silly/cool/unique delete as appropriate...I love riding my lo pro, the best word I can think to describe the feel is 'direct' - none of the power I transmit into the bike gets sucked up by anything other than moving forwards fast, love that feel....it is so nimble too...and I like the look of it, not seen many like it before....
-
I love my lo-pro around town...for those quick blasts, like my 20 minute commute, it is so much fun, so tight and responsive and direct...the frame is extremely stiff and very quick off the line, I love it! When I get on it, I feel like its taking me inexorably towards my destination...
In terms of comfort, well, I don't think its ever been an issue...I don't really ride it for long periods, of course....
Jail sentences in this country are a joke, for all sorts of crime...33 months for this? Unbelievable... Why should he not be locked up for 10 years? The victim will live with his injuries for the rest of his life...
