A little bit of wee came out...
Ooooh yeah.
I found one of these, NOS, in a bike shop in Sydney. Bargainous price of $600 (£400)!!!!! Needless to say, I emptied my wallet on the spot. Have no idea how I'll afford to build it up though...

@solarider - I have a set of almost new 303's (Shimano) with about 200miles of crits in them. Recently made the switch to Campag, so I'm looking to swap my freehub over. If you think it'll help your sale, I'm happy to send you my Shimano hub in exchange for your Campag version. Only catch, I'm in....Australia!

How many jonnyrau's does it take to change a lightbulb? Four or more. One to remove the bulb. Another to ebay it and for its residual value. Another to perform an arbitrage deal on a new bulb bought at ASDA but returned to Sainsburys for profit of 5p. And one to hold the ladder (on which further deals could be done, necessitating more Jonnyraus...).

@ hillsprinter:
as stated in my sales thread, my intentions where always to get this to a good home not to make money. It would have been fair by you to mention that the offer "that was too good to refuse" did not constitute of excess money (it is still going at the same price) but rested on the fact that i have the option to buy this back and it is going to a "good home" that i know.
With all due respect, you did register on the forum yesterday presumably because you gooled the add for this bike. In this light, i think it is a little out of order to behave like you just did.
Lastly (and i really do not like pondering upon technicalities but i feel i should mention it): i never stated in my post that the sale will go forward in the form of first dibbed first serve.
I understand that you are dissapointed. But as i emailed you you will be notified in the case the bike will be sold again.
thats it from my side
best regards "this guy"
edit: (just to make that clear) of course the bike was not advertised elsewhere!
@ Mr C. Sorry you've missed the point entirely. Besides the fact that I got in before anybody else, agreed that I would come to you, with the money you requested, and purchase the bike (and having made it clear that I would never split it, or sell it - by the way, Im an Aussie trackie/roadie, and a lifelong fan of Danny C, so I couldn't think of a much better home), the issue here is that a classifieds is where stuff is sold or bought.
There is no room on a classifieds for "conditional sale", or "sale with the option to buy back" (and particularly when that is not mentioned in the ad), as that simply creates the opportunity for unfairness like this. If you had any concerns about selling it to me (or anybody else) you could have voiced them rather than simply dishonouring our agreement (albeit a loose one at that). Thats simply not gentlemanly. And if you had any concerns about parting with the bike altogether, you should simply not have advertised it for sale, but given more thought. I should not have to pay the price for your indeciciveness.
I will agree with you that this is not about the money. Its about having faith that the classifieds on LFGSS operate with the integrity it should. In this instance, that is simply not the case.
(BTW I have been a member here longer than you have - I am The Black Widow - simply forgot my p/w and couldnt retrive it from my workplace so setup a new user to purchase your bike).

You must post the classified advert in the Classifieds forum.
You must use a thread prefix if one is applicable.
If you are selling your item via eBay or another site, and the audience is not restricted to the forum membership, then you should NOT post it on here as it will be deleted
Anyway, RPM has a whine that I've got power mad but considering I've only deleted the 'repeated' spammer threads and warned others when I could've just deleted their ads I think I've been more than reasonable. bans RPM
Not sure if this constitutes a poor seller as Im new to this, but it seems obvious to me that if someone advertises an item for sale here (and doesn't advise that its for sale elsewhere), AND the item is dibbed (by me, at the seller's requested price), AND sale agreed pending face to face inspection of the item, then its really fu@ked up for the seller to pull out of the sale by saying that a really good friend has made him an offer too good to refuse.

Either something is for sale here, or it isn't, and Im hugely disappointed with this guy.
