Not sure if it's a cyclist or biker, saw both vehicles on the floor.
One person was knocked out on the floor being seen to my medics, again not sure who. Didn't stop to look tbh. The bike on the road/pavement was a blue frame with I think green halo tyres.Sorry not a lot to go on, and it might of just been the cyclist stopped because they saw a biker come off, hopefully all involved are ok.

Still working on the raleigh twenty, but was out Saturday and got the missus this, was only £20 from a chrity shop, is already a single speen, in excellent condition and coaster brake. Even the dynamo lighting works, Just got some new tyres and tubes on the way, and have some lightly used Oury grips to put on it.

Just going back to the info about replacing the bottom bracket on a Raleigh Twenty, I was reading on Sheldon about the velo-orange BB, surely this would be a good solution to replacing the cottered cranks if you wanted something more modern. Also, seems like a decent price too for an upgrade.
Also, Radar, do you hav e a close up shot of that headset you fitted?

Tbh, i'm just wanting to build up a funky single speed for my missus, she won't ride fixed, but this would make a great daily rider to work for her. Pretty much like the pic you first posted, if it's a bit scrappy, i'll give it some paint, gotta mate with some unused skyways he's happy to sell on, and loadsa bits from my other builds and bikes over the years.

@tomiskinky the phill wood+ plus shimano works however is expensive! Most of the cottered cranks works a treat if you look after them properly! There's a few other solutions o the bb problem and one of them is to get a new spindle 7 Japanese as their longer than usual but not everytime works! Depending on the year of the bike the bb width can vary from 71mm to 76mm, mine is the latest one! I managed to get a cotterless spindle to fit the twenty adding the cages for the ball bearing gave me some extra mm and the spindle fits perfect! However with the length of it the chain line for a fixed conversion was way out 5cm + ! About the steering I'm sure a good lbs should be able to re thread to take standard 24tpi headset as te Raleigh twenty comes with the funny nylon bushing which is not bad but not the best! Good luck withthe project! I'd you need any help let me know! I'll post a picture of my recent update on my twenty shortly!
Might do that fella if I get stuck. Look forward to the pics. So, you think a Kingpin is better as has standard threads etc? hmm, I'll keep and eye out. Cheers.

yeahnerdz, loving it - exactly what I had in mind. Jersey, that's the mutts too.
Wanna do this more and more. On the B/B, might try the Sheldon idea of a Phils set of cups on a 72 cartridge. Will see, also, thought I could fabricate a bracket like on Sheldon's Twenty page to extend the calliper from the bracket - http://sheldonbrown.com/home-drop.html -

Posted yesterday in probably the wrong section, but spotted a lass on a sweet shopper style ride near holborn tube on Monday with white skyways on!!
Fancy building something like this for my girl, have looked at a few and Raleigh did one with a steel 20" wheel, so guess that would be the perfect donor for the build. Did anyone on here build the bike I spotted or know about it, was a real purdy looking ride.
Any info much appreciated, not been a participant for a while on here, just been busy with other stuff.

Not a complete bike, but mate had his H+Son front wheel robbed off his bike down in Chelsea harbour yesterday, seems about 4 or 5 fixed/ss bike were targeted and had parts removed!
If anyone sees or is offered a polished silver H+Son rim on a white hub with Bontrager race lite tyre, drop me a pm. Cheers.

Does anyone know where sells a standard front wheel for an 80s Raleigh Caprice?
My business partner got one, but has since discovered the front wheel has had a bang and is no longer round!!!I have searched the usual bike shops, but all the seem to have are the usual high end offerings. It's a 26" x 1 3/8" any ideas much appreciated.

Anyone got a good set up recommendation for wheels for the bigger bloke?
Mate of mine is 22 stone and keeps busting spokes on his Genisis. Would just getting the wheel rebuilt with better spoke be ok, or will he be better off getting a 36 hole set up? I was thinking maybe H+Sons rim, formel hubs etc? What do most of the bigger folk on here ride, Arrowspok are out of his budget!

Mate has just had his Mongoose Maurice nicked from outside fitness first in Clapham, pretty much standard, new Vredestein tires is about all. It's the biggest size they do as he's 6"9 or more so if you spot kids on one that's too big, let us know.
He's had nothing but bad luck with it... I posted a bit back about his repeated puncturing, he was laughing when I spoke to him, bumped into a guy who owns Streatham cycles who was a decent sounding chap.

Mate has a crazy situation going on, he keeps getting flats, been through 6 in 2 weeks and put new tires on. Thing is, he is getting the flats after he fixes them.
I asked if he checked the rims and tires before fitting again and he said yes, but the odd thing is, they are fine, then about 6 or 7 hours later, there will be an audible pheeet and fast deflation!

cheers all, but he sent a text today to say he wants to buy OTP as it's his first foray into fixed/singlespeed bikes, I tried to get him to convert his current MTB to Singlespeed, pretty sure he has swappable dropouts, but he wants OTP, so he was deciding between a MM (nope, never heard of it until he showed me them at Evans) and a Mongoose Maurice!
ok, maybe it was the biker then I saw being attended to. It was very windy on that stretch, and there was those plastic barrier things all over, wonder if one blew out into him.
Hope whoever it was is ok.
