Not cycling related* but I just bought a 4k Chromecast for slightly less than half price. Offer on on Google store. Plus 4% back on top cashback.

*You could use it to watch some cycling though.

Apologies for being a bit clueless, I've not been following this thread.
Someone I know has an Arkose and he wants to know if he can put 700x47 marathon tours in there.
Unfortunately I don't know which year it is. I will see the bike on Monday so can update then.
I know current models come with 45 tyres and can take up to 47s
My question is have they always had the clearance?
Thanks

Excuse my ignorance and late reply (bit behind) but how do these work? Is the BB Axle splined or knurled in some way (presumably some kind of insert to mate with is added to these cranks) to prevent these from slipping? Or are they simply clamped tight on a round axle (like a headtube)?
Excellent work as always. Really enjoy the thread.
EDIT: Just read on a bit. It seems its a round axle and the arms are clamped on (given these parts are all handmade I'd imagine the fit is perfect). I suppose its a kids bike so unlikely to slip (fairly sure you've considered this - not suggesting you haven't). Unless she's a junior Forstermann in the making :) .

Can anyone tell me what bearings I need for a cartridge bearing stronglight a9 headset (1"). Sjs have mentioned they're 41 X 30.15 (45° X 45°) but they've not listed the height.
I think it'll probably be 7mm but wondered if anyone knew for sure. See datasheet image I found online.
I'd pop the headset out and measure it but it's on a friend's bike who lives elsewhere and I'm on holiday.

This is old news (he died in March) but Ryuichi Sakamoto curated a playlist for his own funeral.

I'm torn. On the one hand it could be the best energy source ever.
On the other we should never be using it as a weapon.
Plus its only good if we're extremely careful with it. And we've shown that we can't be careful with anything. If corners exist you can be damm sure we'll cut them.
So yeah we probably shouldn't be messing with it at all.

This was probably already mentioned but this is obit is a good read.

I've got some of those on an old bike. They work fine for their intended use so I'm sure they'd be fine as a basket mount. Quite sturdy.
They can be had much cheaper on AliExpress though (obviously you have to wait for it to arrive from China though). Think I paid about £2 each for mine. But it was a few years ago.
