Yeah we got a quote from them, £7k for the box plus £2k for each gate (we built a bin gate one end and a people gate the other).
No plans just sort of made it up, it’s a treated timber frame, clad in OSB, painted with bitumen paint. Then clad. The planter is lined with a thick pond liner with a drainage hole connected to a funnel and then a pipe out the side.
The dimensions are: 2750mm x 1250mm x 900mm (length x height x depth) it’s got a doors at each end.

Recently built ourselves a box to store our bikes, it would fit three normal sized bikes. It’s clad in larch which we burnt with a roofing torch for the Japanese shou sugi ban finish, which helps the wood last longer (and looks super nice). Really happy with how it’s turned out. It’s bolted to the concrete pad it sits on and there’s also a sheffield stand inside to lock the bikes to. Plus 2 lever mortice locks for each door.
We were going to commission someone else to build, but was prohibitively expensive, all in I think it cost less than £2k to build (including having to buy a nice Milwaukee nail gun)

This is my dearly beloved Kepler, I’ve had it for 7 years. I’ve bought a cargo bike and no longer use it enough to warrant keeping it. It’s well used but still has a lot of life and is a smooth ride.
The prefect bike for getting about town, the pitlocks means you can use a smaller lock and not worry about the wheels being stolen. The rack is really sturdy and great for carrying shopping or your dog. The wide bars and bar end shifters make for great handling.
I’ve just replaced the brakes and bottom bracket today, so it’s super fresh. I’m also gonna put some new bar tape on but that hasn’t arrived yet.
The particulars:
- Brother Kepler 56cm Frame/Fork in Navy blue
- Mavic A719 rims on Hope RS Mono (rear) and SP PV-8 dynamo hub (front) (Built by SBC Cycles)
- Continental Top Contact 37mm tyres
- Shimano Tiagra front derailleur
- Shimano Deore 10 speed rear derailleur
- MicroShift bar end shifters
- Hope headset
- Shimano Deore outboard bottom bracket (NEW)

Yeah it was very easy. They use Wordpress with a commerce plugin (I'm not sure I'd recommend this though). But basically I configured my build, paid up $500 and then I'm in the 12 week queue. They emailed me pretty quick, we talked details. And a while later they generated a payment link for the full amount (PayPal I think) and I paid in full. And a couple of weeks later it was ready.
(then it sat in America for 6 weeks waiting for @Señor_Bear to be my bike mule)

I agree with Velocio that Shopify is great. But @Señor_Bear is right too. If your main product is essentially a set deposit and then a variable final amount then the transaction fee that Shopify take will be a margin killer. Shopify overkill unless you start selling 20 other SKUs as well.
I’d recommend using https://craftcms.com/ or something similar and a simple payments/order form with https://stripe.com/gb
Bank transfers set up a barrier and will cause a lot queries that won't convert to actual orders.
Stripe take 1.4% of your transaction (plus 20p). Whatever Shopify tier you choose Shopify take more % as well as a monthly fee.
