I went to buy a Scicon Triathlon bag yesterday. Fortunately, I took my Kona Paddywagon along to make sure it would fit without having to remove the risers or turn them to the side. I was surprised to find I couldn't fit the frame to the bag's internal frame/rack because the rear dropout spacing was too narrow. I would've needed to stretch my rear frame dropouts by about another 1cm on each side.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there a workaround/ another bag that does the same job with wider dropout spacing? I wondered whether the rear dropout spacing was different on their MTB/road bags but couldn't find any specs on the site.

Hoping to find someone who's already solved this problem.

The shoe shields? How much would you want for them?

If anyone comes looking for the same information, SRAM replied and recommended crankbrothers shoe shields.

They're about a tenner plus delivery, but they're just thin metallic shims with holes for the screws. I reckon there are a couple of Guinness cans in the recycling that could be cut with scissors, folded over to the right thickness and drilled for the same effect.

I appreciate the kind offer, thank you. I screwed the cleats in and got the tape measure out and my eyeball was way off. Current clearance is more like 2mm

I've probably got something laying about that I can make I suitable shim from. I've still emailed SRAM to see whether there's an official product...just in case.

How long have you had the shoes, and how's the shim holding up?

Is that because your cleat-to-ground clearance wasn't in the 0.25mm-1mm range?

Just bought a pair of MX238 (wide) but the stickers and notes say I need a shim/spacer/shield to ensure the cleat-to-ground clearance is between 0.25mm and 1mm (or the warranty is void). Eyeballing it, the clearance looks it'll be in that range without adding anything.

Anyone else had/overcome/know about this issue. Can't find anything online and I'm anxious to get out in the uncharacteristically nice bank holiday weather before it turns.

I felt the same way. Just "read" it on Audible because my 10 year-old got it as a birthday gift and I wanted to know what was in it.

I know it's less than you wanted but I can pay £50 and collect as soon as tonight if you just want it gone.

I haven't been out on the bike for a long time (or in the forum for even longer) but I dragged myself out.
Standing in the downpour for nearly 2 hours, I probably would've binned it off if it wasn't a BUBR ride. Thoroughly enjoyed it once we got going though. The atmosphere was amazing and it was joyful to see so many of us out on bikes.

This turned out not to be quite right for me as my SRAM Omniums don't fit. Apparently that's a thing. I'll probably just eBay it on the weekend unless someone on here feels they missed out and wants to buy it for the £95 I paid a few days ago?

If there's a more up-to-date thread then I can't find it, so dredging. I'm getting well with the Fat Lad at the Back bib shorts, but I missed the October restock of the unbranded black stealth jacket and could do with finding an alternative.

I did notice, when driving in Portugal this year, that even big cars have very soft horns. I tended to use mine for "hello I'm coming round this blind corner" purposes. And I didn't notice any aggressive beeping in Lisbon but that was only a day's driving in the city.

If this hasn't sold over the weekend I could meet you with 40 fine English pounds on Wednesday. Or Tuesday evening at King's Cross / Victoria?
