Just a gentle word of warning...the track needs to be bone dry to be safe enough to ride. Despite having no rain for days, morning dew can be enough to call the whole thing off. That was certainly the case in late October/early November when the temperature wasn't warm enough to dry it off. Its a bit of a dissapointment to get there, stand around for an hour waiting to see if it drys enough and then being told "no riding today"!
I hope it isn't...but I think 1st March might be wishful thinking.
Just though I'd add that in case anyone is thinking of travelling from the otherside of London. Don't want yer to be disappointed.

al@creative Almost certainly for the 0900 session we'll keep trying for a while for the 1030 although it becomes so irregular that it's not worth much as part of any training schedule just a bit of socializing really.
Thanks...worth knowing...I have a few XC races coming up over the coming weeks (Gorrick, Thetford etc) so my training is changing somewhat. I can't see me getting down to HH 'til late November now and surely, there'll be little chance of riding then? Shame though...I was starting to find some form.
VHS - what the fuck is that ;-)

Good move. Could have done with the lie-in :-(
Haven't been to Calshot before. Should be going with the guys from my club (West Drayton Mountain Bike Club) - it seems to be a reasonable regular winter trip for them. Really looking forward to it.
Good news about the settlement. We spoke about the Roval wheels the other week...I'd avoid...come in pretty heavy and are no great shakes for the price. Take a look at the new Mavic R-Sys wheels...I think that's where my money is going.
Back on topic - I looked on Laterooms and there were some central hotels for £45ish for a twin. Seems reasonable. Smokey from Brussells to Gent is the way to go.

Hippy...we spoke about this the other day.
I looked into it a bit and its do-able...I got sidetracked (no pun intended) so never posted about it. Eurostar is do-able - Friday out, back Sunday night. Cheap and cheerful accommodation - works out around £200 plus entry to the track which is around €20ish. Plus beer...so double it. I'd be up for it.
Al - did you head down to HH on Saturday...I didn't see you. Alas too wet to ride. Off to Calshot in three weeks time :-) Did you buy a new wheelset?

I was there today. White Nagasawa. It was actually a pretty good session. There's a VCL mountain bike weekend in Wales this weekend so the really fast guys weren't there. Finishing in the top 5 was actually a possibility ;-)
I think they'll run the sessions as long as they can. I was talking to Al and he was saying that the problem is the bottom banked section. Because it doesn't get the sun at this time of year it takes forever to dry out...
Glad you had a good time.

Did you confirm your sign up? I have no idea why this was necessary but once you registered on the site, you received an email with an html link that confirmed your sign up.
Although it seems to have worked for thousands of others, I failed to see this an didn't confirm until Monday 10/9...I registered on 25 July. Remains to be seen whether they'll send me a pack.
In the words of RPM "give a fuck? nope."
Hippy - I did that Willesden RR last week...what group did you ride in? I started in the fast group but couldn't hang on past 50km or so...the pace was pretty blistering and a guy from my club just kept cranking things up...b*stard.
After getting dropped, I then got lost but managed to find some others from the medium group and made it back in one piece. Was back in the scout hut around 1.15pm. Are you up for any of the others?
