Please to hear you are ok, I suggest you see a solicitor. Your claim should really be for your loss, it will not pay for you to be better off than you were, it may seem unfair but there you are.

Hope you get what you want but insurance is very expensive already and if everyone claimed £1000, for a £100 bike that was stolen/broken, guess what would happen to premiums!

Did this last week, we had to get off the ferry at 04.00, no water and pitch black, got to Gornay-en-Bray for lunch, went on to Chaumont-en-Vexin in time for dinner, easy ride into Paris the following day. Stayed at Le Grange Saint Nicholas, good vaue, cheap and bike friendly, two rooms, 3 people €127 including breakfast.
