I used to ride Campag until the release of the 11spd - i was like, what to do? Should i upgrade or not?
Then i had a look on Shimano prices, and truth is - ok i know it's a much small company but - Campagnolo is just way, waaay overpriced.
I think if you want a nice performance groupset and you're on a budget, keep an eye for Ultegra or Dura-Ace 7800 second-hand.
If you don't win, it's not the groupset's fault :)

Is it that LHD Mercian he had built that they fucked the chrome up on?
Mercian did a great job; I did screwed up!
To be honest, it can be done (LHD on a track bike), but well, too much work! But i think the main reason why i decided sell it before even building it up was... ok is a nice looking bike, but can i commute on it? Can i, let's say, go to the cinema in Peckham, and leave it outside for two hours at night?
The chap who bought it is working on a book that might be published soon, i am dying to see it too!

NOS Adidas 'Merckx' shoes!
Oh those shoes!
Sold them last week; buyer lives only 6 miles away, so went there to deliver the shoes...
The gentleman was like, an american version of our friend Colnago Costa :) - he had a Colnago road and a Merckx track, all in great condition and with period italian parts of course... wish i had a camera with me!

You're welcome! Sorry it took so long!
Nice to hear that it arrived safe and sound and the Royal Mail manager didn't try to steal them :)

(...)something you sold him anything that shows how much of a legend he was.
(...)roberto he sent paul on his ride to brighton (...)Funny thing, i first met Paul through eBay (of course), he bought a vintage leather helmet - which he didn't use on the ride that would make him the legendary 50/14!!
The ride to Brighton - we were talking by e-mail, i told him about the forum ride to Brighton, "hey why don't you come along?".
I don't remember why he didn't come on a road bike. He had recently built that track bike, and wanted to change to a larger sprocket but they were out of stock.
I tried to convince him it wasn't a good idea to ride to Brighton using that high gear, but we know Paul! He rode for a bit, and was like, "yeah i will be fine!" :)But despite the accident and a not very good first impression, Paul didn't give up cycling, and getting involved with the forum!
A very good example how cycling can change someone's life!
