LFGSS and Microcosm shutting down 16th March 2025 (the day before the Online Safety Act is enforced)
someone at ofcom having a bad day or ofcom needing a sacrificial lamb to hold up and say this is what happens if you don't comply.
I think Ofcom will end up in court if they did that, Ofcom needs to follow the Human rights act and ECHR. How Ofcom been acting so far its clear they are not ready for any legal challenge on free speech grounds (Tho I know the UK has weak free speech laws)

I really hope fourms and other sites find a way out of this, Good news it looks like news about this is picking up alot of steam so I hope the UK gov and Ofcom panic and backtrack when it backfires hard, I think there will be alot of Judicial review and legal challenges to this while there huge backlash from the public when sites start blocking the UK leading to the UK gov backtracking hard and bringing the law more in line with the EU DSA and getting rid of the AV parts but there going to be ton of damage.
My hope: Peter Kyle does a mass exempt for small sites and Ofcom is forced to delay many parts of the act while the AV never come into force because of the huge privacy nightmare and likely to end up with alot of privacy and legal issues.
My fear:
Peter Kyle just goes:
And then Labour double down with legal but harmful and a under 16 ban.

I know it may feel hopeless right now but hopefully everyone here can mobilise and fight this law and atleast get it changed.
I think the best thing @Velocio can do is get in contact with news sites like The Guardian and The Register aswell as getting in contact with UK internet rights groups like the open rights group, big brother watch and index on censorship and users here should look into them and donate.
Also lawyering up may help seeing there may be Judicial review and legal challenges to this. I don't see how this will hold up under the ECHR. They can also help you look through the codes.
lastly this may not help much and it may be to late but everyone here should contact there MPs about this and tell them about this.

The OSA would be repealed over night if that happend.
