Seems that CA streamers show up as an endpoint within Plex from a quick google. Its built in DAC sounds nice or you can output spdif if you want. Price is £450. Whether that’s cheap or not is relative.

I’m using a Cambridge Audio MXN-10 streamer with an SSD plugged into it but it will stream from NAS using its own Steam-magic software which I’ve found to be very good (I have no patience with difficult software). It’s basically the same as Bluesound Node, I don’t know what that Sonos issue is but I can’t see Cambridge Audio changing abandoning their software system any time soon.

Nice one, yeah this guy sort of said stop being a baby about getting electrocuted, it doesn’t really need an earth. What you say about earthing the case via the RCAs makes sense in a ‘you don’t want a seatbelt, you’re better off being thrown clear’ kind of way.

I use a Pro-ject Pre-Box DS2 digital. It has phono, analogue, Bluetooth and all the other digital ins, I use an Airport Express for Wi-Fi streaming.

The RCA socket is mounted on a nylon plate in the Jones plug aperture, the C7 socket I’m not sure, he did say it was all fully reversible and gave me a bag of all the old stuff he pulled out of them. I reckon having this work done wouldn’t harm the value but I don’t know. They’re certainly not leaving my possession until I’m all nice and dead.

Yamaha AS301 is excellent for the money. Doesn’t have USB in for your laptop but would still work if the computer has headphone out.

Figured it out, user error on my part, Id somehow altered the current in the charger settings that I didn’t know existed. Thanks for the help.

There’s only one socket here but I’ll try next door’s supply when he gets in.

Excellent thank you, I’ll have a word with the landlord, he is doing some work in an attached building right now. Pretty sure it’s not the vehicle as the 10a is displayed on the charger when not plugged in.

Hi, long time lurker etc

Does anyone know why I’m suddenly only getting 10a through my EV charger rather than the regular 16a? It’s plugged into a 32a 3-phase supply in my industrial unit, charging a Citroen e-berlingo van. Usually I can put it on charge at the start of the day and have it fully charged about 6 hours later but it’s going at a snail’s pace now and doesn’t charge fully in a regular day.

Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

My experience with rPi and Volumio was that about 1 in 5 times there would be an issue that would take half an hour of frustration to resolve and it would entirely spoil the mood. Even when it worked correctly there would be weird static issues and tracks skipping at random. I also found the interface a bit crappy. I now go straight from an iPad into a dac by usb cable and have no reliability issues at all, after getting annoyed with both chromecast and Volumio I’ve given up with wireless streaming altogether. Listening to music without needing to be near a phone and having to get up to change albums improves focus for me too.
