Nice project!

Pleased to say we managed to get our Trafic driving again.

Interrupting solar chat with a quick update: we’ve been working on putting a new clutch kit into the Trafic for the last two months. Took way too long, will never do this again, don’t recommend it at all! But, it seems to be in as it should be, now all that’s left is charging the battery so we can at least start the thing… at least we could finally move it inside now.

Looks like a good time! And both bikes are so good too

Finished! Cables are on the long side but couldn’t be bother to shorten them. Rides very nicely :)

Might not be very visible but the derailleur hanger/drop out is cracked. Should have seen that earlier…

Gearbox is shot so that will be a fun learning project. And then a good amount of rusty spots but nothing critical, no leaks and all spots that are doable with our welding skills! And then the interior is dated and dirty, as you’d expect

Brother Mehteh in holiday mode. Went up the Aubisque, did a lot of underbiking on “gravel” suggested by komoot and and a lengthy route around the Puy de Dôme. It never looks like the prettiest steel gravel bike out there but there’s nothing to change, rides perfect, apart from shifting being shit sometimes

And started by throwing things I still had on it. Plan is to go single speed and V brakes. Obviously it’s a bit too small for me but if I can find a good long seatpost it should work fine

Read that Tratnik was on his own bike, which only has 3mm saddle height difference to JV's bike. And then he had the clear assignment of riding a bit behind Vingegaards group so a quick change would be possible in case of puncture

Also, I’ve owned a bakfiets for a few months now. Someone welded it together himself, then I bought it for €50, and made a new cargo box. Our new enjoys it when going to the workshop. I want to weld a better cargo area on it someday, but for now it’s fine in a crusty yet working order

I have developed a new itch for bikes. Have to ride the Mehteh more but it works fine. Picking up this Giant tomorrow for cheap, hope to turn it into a functional city bike
