As Mr Smyth says, a plunge cut with an oscillating multi tool would be easier and give a neater finish. They're super useful to have anyway if you're doing bits and pieces of DIY.
The multi tool linked to was excellent (once I put some earplugs in) made it a really easy job . Possibly not the neatest cut but it's going to be covered so I was a bit slapdash

I have to cut a small hole in a wooden panel, possibly 12cm x 12cm at the most. The wood looks about 5mm thick and I presume it’s plywood. It was used to box in a gas meter (top tip for boxer inners - leave space for the valve handle!)
I was planning to mark out the cut on the wood, drill a small whole in each corner and then use a proper wood cutting disk on a dremel to do the cuts, does this seem like a reasonable plan?I’m not sure a conventional saw will fit in the space and I have to not hit the gas pipe / meter as well.
Any better plan gratefully received. Also any ideas for something easy to stick over this new hole that will give some room for the handle rather then try to build a box - some sort of junction box?

Just the front one and the stays are all on the bike and fine. The current one is cracked, but the Evan’s near me only had them in black rather than silver Fortunately a pair of just the guards with no fittings was only three quid more than a single elsewhere so at some stage i’ll change the rear.
I will have the spanner’s to hand.

I am not a mechanic but siphon out the fuel and replace, maybe flush any old petrol out of fuel lines by running new petrol through, take plugs out, change engine oil, drop some 2t oil into the pots and turn over with plugs out to lube barrels, battery charge up. Is it FI or carb? Was petcock closed or is everything going to be bunged up with old petrol?
Or just charge the battery up and send it.

Is this an issue when cycling or driving?
For me it’s mainly an issue when either crossing the road or riding the motorbike (some fuckwit delivery scooter tosser doing a stupid overtake by going the side of a traffic island). I don’t drive that much in London anymore and on my bicycle I’m probably more away from their trajectory.
I think it’s a particularly dangerous manoeuvre. -

I've only just started really using my Brompton having bought it off a colleague seven years ago. Changed worn chain and rear sprockets today. Front looks a bit worn too. For a bike that's not used much is there a cheap replacement chainset or is 90 quid for a Brompton one the least hassle? Not particularly interested in changing the bb as that seems ok.
