Thanks for the kind advice Fintan, but I don't know enough about the parts to be able to list makes and models. I don't even know the model of the bike. It wasn't of any importance when I bought it. I'd just had my bike stolen so needed a replacement asap for work. So it was really a fluke that I became the owner of this awesome racer.

I sadly have to say goodbye to my wonderful racer. I bought it off a friend many years ago and used it as a commuter bike for about 5 years. It's been a joy to ride – it's so damn fast – but I now have a neck problem and can't use deep drop bars any longer. So the bike has just been sitting around and it's a shame as someone should be enjoying it. I'd like to find it a new loving home and the right owner who could restore it to its former glory. A cyclist friend told me this forum might be the place to find such a person.
I've done regular maintenance on it and replaced things like, chain, cassette, cables, break pads. The shifters are however original. One of them (for the front) wasn't working when I bought it and the other one has become a little temperamental over the years. For more details on make and model of parts, pls see comments by Philbythesea below (thanks mate!) or ask me for more detailed pics.
