I'm installing a rigid fork on my XC Mountain bike and the forks come with a 100x15 axle.
It's a DT swiss 240s 6 bolt-boost hub, so i was planning on using these end caps HWGXXX00S4468S
but on a website it says that it's to convert from QR to thru axle, not reduce from Boost to TA. Is it really a problem?

Well hammer didnt do shit. I'll see if I can get a dremel and the tool you were mentionning from a friend.
I drilled and remove the first plastic seal, thinking it would help but it just revealed more junk.

Edit : placed the frame between two pieces of furniture. Asked a friend to brace it and then hammered like my life depended on it. Finally got it out :]

Well thanks for the tips, it's too late to hammer anything without causing drama with the neighbors but I'll give the wood/hammer method a go tomorrow.

taking the drive side bearing out of the shell with the now free NDS inner race.

Can't access the drive side bearing, it's blocked by the chainring :/ (shimano XT, cant remove with the cranks on)

@M_V not moving at all. I might go buy a dead blow hammer tomorrow to see if that works ...

Hey Guys, any tips on how to get this crank arm out? It's completely seized. I tried hammering it with a rubber mallet but the frame being carbon I didnt insist. It didnt move at all...
I soaked it in W40 overnight, still no movement.

The direct line Paris-Barcelona doesnt have any night train.
If you rly want to travel by night, there are some other options with 1 to 3hrs layovers (usually early morning)

Any recommendations for a rigid 29" boost carbon fork ?

I've been trying to fall in love with my carbon endurance road bike, a Look optimum 765 plus, after a decade of steel and a bit of alloy here and there.
After one year of consistent riding, it still feels like a boring piece of plastic. The color is super nice but that's basically it...
Maybe it's the geometry that's too boring for me, idk...

Had this happen with a Surly straggler too, bought the frame and built it as a fancy commuter. Sold it after 3 rides. Felt heavy and didn't like the weird geometry

Ah good question, I should have included that. it's actually my first "proper"road bike. My main bike was a Cinelli Tutto plus size M for some time. I rebuilt it with drop bars and a cx carbon fork. I'm also riding MTBs (a staton Sherpa and an XC bike with a pretty aggressive geometry), a cinelli Vigorelli and my cargo.

I laughed out loud at you description of the geometry 😂 it was actually pretty comfy while bikepacking

Has anyone rode a 765 optimum plus ?
I've ridden mine for around 2000km and Im having pretty mixed feeling about it...
Not sure how to describe it but I find it lacks rigidity, not super quick to respond. The turning is pretty weird too, you have to really lean to get it to turn. I feel like the front end is lacking precision

I pushed the pistons and realigned the caliper. Still sounds slightly weird but feels ridable, the nearest bike shop is 50km away anyway, it Will have to do 🥲 thx for the inputs
