Hiya folks..
I'm working on a fixer upper.. and through interest rate rises, material cost hikes I'm turning into a semi reluctant DIY enthusiast..
Right now - I'm wondering if anyone here can help with the following please.
- Sandblasting (I need to remove decades of old/miscellaneous layers of paint from some cast iron railings (removing with angle
grinders (wire brush heads) is taking to long. Will obviously
happily pay a rental fee!). - Welding. I need help fixing a 2nd hand cement mixer.. The drum has some small holes in it.. I'm hoping someone here might know a
cycling friendly welder? (I also need to to some welding on a bike
component at the same time). Again - Obviously, will pay!
Finally - I'm building up all manner of tools.. so not sure if there's a tool library on here.. or anything like that.. but I'd happy to lend things out (on the proviso if broken.. they're fixed or replaced)
- Sandblasting (I need to remove decades of old/miscellaneous layers of paint from some cast iron railings (removing with angle

Where are you based anyway?

Thanks @lf
I’d actually found this video pretty handy previously too..
I’m ok with getting right length.. it was more of a question about whether I have one of the chains just set up for the 34 or the 28 only as I can use the other chain to cover x2 cassette sizes still (either 34&32 or 32&28).

Seems like a good place to post my question..
I’ve just picked up my 3rd set of wheels for my bike, a rondo HVRT.
I’ve got a posh set for summer with a 11-28 cassette. But during the winter I’ve been running with an 11-32 on the stock 700c wheels for more chilled rides and to make the Hills more friendly. I’d set this up to run on the same chain length no probs.
However, I’ve now picked up a pair of 650b’s which also fit this bike. I figured I’d might as well get a bigger cassette, so have put on an 11-34. Having x1 chain for these x3 cassette sizes seems a bit of a push.. so I’ve got another chain.
So now I’m wondering do I set up this chain specifically for the 28 that’s only long enough for that (with the other chain set up for the 32 & 34)
Or whether I set up for the 34 only (leaving the current chain working ok for the 28 & 32).
Hope this makes sense..
Or does anyone think I can get away with the x1 chain across the x3 different cassette sizes?

Hi folks,
Hope you're well.
I'd picked this Turbo trainer up for free off one of my Brixton Cycles club mates..
Therefore not looking for any $ for it. If however, you'd like to make a contribution to another club mate's initiative - then please do. Will is making bikes out of donated parts for NHS workers and somewhat out of pocket / still needs to buy parts.

Anyhow in terms of the Turbo..
It's a Tacx Cycletrack magnetic, adjustable resistance (i'll be keeping the Riser block though I'm afraid). Yes you can use it in Zwift if you have a wheel speed sensor and a bit of imagination!
I'd also actually built a bracket for it, to enable it to fit a kids bike (with 16 inch wheels) to help knacker the kids in lockdown I). I'll dig this out too if you want.
I live in West Norwood, south london - so please pick up from there.
Message me if you're interested.
Cheers
Tim

Hi Pete,
This is what I’m after me thinks. If u can give me a few hours today to double check and see if I can buy a single front wheel easily enough from hunt, that would be appreciated.
Incidentally, how come there’s no front wheel available? (Or have I not had enough coffee/missing something).
I live in south London but can come and pick up easily enough once I’ve got my ducks in a line.
Cheers

Hi folks,
I'm new to LFGSS but have heard great thing about it. Hope i'm posting this wanted request in the right place.
Anyhow - pick up a new bike, that takes 650b's. I'm now on a bit of a budget - so looking for a used, but loved set of 650b's - ideally as follows:
- For Disk brakes
- Suitable for 11 speed shimano cassette
- 12 mm thru axle
Live in London. Can pick up next week if anyone's got anything.
Cheers

Hiya,
Apologies- I owe some thanks for previous advice here. I managed to fix cement mixer! Folks are welcome to borrow! HMU.
I’m hoping to find some one with a pillar drill for a cast iron balustrade I’m fixing.. I need to re-tap a hole for a bolt for it to hang from. Vice and hand held drill is not getting me there..
Thanks folks.
