Sorry; I thought it just stayed in France. Thats a bit of a bugger; but I suppose 90% of the border crossings are old smugglers routes anyway; its not like TCR where there’s a formal ferry to Greece etc

An email from Anna re TCR and fact that EU green certificates would mean impossible for fair racing. Decision end of month but it seems very unlikely its this year. Feel very badly for them, have put in huge amount of effort

Any updates from anyone on events etc? From my end I am trying to speak to Andi re Iberica Traversa. Its now only 3 weeks away, and Spain shut down hard over the Easter break to prevent spread over the celebration period.

I have done my events on 28 tubeless so far; but have some 30mm Goodyear tubeless am experimenting with currently. So far so good. Might even go crazy and try 32 next

To hijack question ever so slightly (sorry) and amend it for a TRC style event which is vast majority of road but a few cheeky gravel sections whats peoples latest views on tyres, widths, and tubeless vs tubed?
It seems there are loads of new tyres being launched all the time; with most of them coming in options as wide as 30 and 32mm. I remember when 25 was wide and 28 was a balloon; now it seems 28 is bare minimum ?!

Any further banter on Iberica Traversa ? I am feeling the pull, just need to get marital clearance which is much harder hurdle to clear than the event itself...

I know its 2 months away and things change, but worth bearing in mind Spain currently has a nighttime curfew (around 10-6am, regions can vary by 1hr but not more). And regions like Andalusia currently have a ‘perimeter ’ which means you cannot enter without good reason.

I am sure they will be loosened in time, but when is up for debate

When I spoke to Andy he said those who had a gravel bike wished they were on a MTB, and those on a MTB wished they had a gravel bike! Don’t they say a good compromise is when everyone is equally unhappy?!?!

Its criminally unpopular though; I think less than 6 riders did in ‘19, so getting race feedback is tough. I tried to find, as I was debating the whole gravel vs MTB can of worms...

Thanks very much; I am only using powerbanks now; need to up my Dynamo game big style. I hadn’t heard about KLite before last month but everyone seems to rave about them. I was tempted to get the road specific one. Thanks very much for feedback on juice usage; this is the sort of feedback you only get from using in the field
