Thanks for the offer, but unfortunately not in London any longer. The PX Sheffield show room's only about an hours drive so it's not to far to go an have a look. Although the tubing looks pretty slim in your pic, so maybe I can save myself a trip. I take it you rate the bike highly? Seems the best value around at the moment and Ti's the dream. It's to replace a Van Nicholas that is the best bike I've owned, but has irritatingly tight tyre clearances.

I know their not particular fashionable but I like the looks of most current Ribble frames. I think I paid about £450 for 725 Norco search frameset from Evans last year, another decent value steel frame. The only that made me question the aesthetic PX ti frames, was that tubing looked a bit oversized in their photos. Think I am going to get a Genesis Volare if I can find a large in stock anywhere.

Unfortunately those Tifosi frames are not in my size. Of all the reasons to think that Boris is an irredeemable cunt, an increase in bike prices has to be the most mundane.

Just checked that, doesn't seem to be much stock of anything around at present. Think the most sensible solution is probably to ride what I have until the covid cycling boom dies down and we have something approaching frictionless trade.

Bit wary of spending big on ebay and not getting a warranty or being aware of previous crashes.

Have been considering a Planet X ti for while, but not entirely convinced by the aesthetics. Had originally bought a Ritchey Logic frameset but it arrived with a damaged fork, which may have been a blessing in disguise looking at the current price of groupsets. It's a real ball ache that bike24/Mantel etc will no longer deliver to the UK.

What's the forum approved sub 2k (fastish/not gravel) road bike? I'd prefer steel or titanium but beggars cannot be choosers. Having a nightmare trying to find something that represents value in this current climate.

Not sure the warranty will cover what appears to have been a bang to the frame. Going to have to get some car touch up paint and ride with a gum shield.

The shop will accept the return, but I'm going to keep it precisely because there's not much else about. Brexit/covid has decimated stock and added about 20% to prices, I haven't seen anything of equivalent quality at that price point. First world problems......

I'm think it's just the paint, the carbon looks pretty smooth underneath. My only concern is that it must have taken a fair impact to do that damage. The bike shop offered a £30 refund, which seems a little cheap to me. The again, how do you quantify a paint chip. Would you recommend the bike, do they ride well?

It's a bit disappointing, the bike shop assured me over the phone, that finger prints on the top tube were the only marks on the bike. It was only 800 for the frameset though, not sure whether to take a chance and keep it. I've added a few better pics of the damage.

Not sure where to post this. Just bought a Ritchey Logic frame that was described as a lightly handled demo frame that had never been built. It arrived with a chip at the bottom of the fork, can someone reassure me that this is not going to be structural? Many thanks

I've just bought a new pre-taped DT Swiss tubless wheelset, after setting up and leaving overnight I can see a tiny bit of sealant around the spoke nipples and one tyre has deflated. Do I need to re-tape them and start again or will the sealant take care of the problem when I start riding them?
