Hi All
Using this time to skill up on bikes and have been using this forum a lot plus YouTube.
My girlfriend wanted bullhorns on hers so gave it a go myself with bars and new brake levers from BLB. They had to replace the old levers as they didnt have a hinge so couldnt get them onto the bar.
I fitted them all correctly (I think) with the only issue being the cables which took up a bit of time reading online. They cable stopper doesnt fit into the hole so sticks out quite unsightly into the handle area - circled on the pic. In fact the stopper doesnt even reach the lever before the thicker inside bit.
Have I done anything wrong?
Also taping handle bars is tough but the plugs they gave me dont fit properly into the bar. They can fall out so easily but I have tape over the end holding it in place.
Loving this journey!

Thank you @nonowt!
With my 74 inseam I fond 49cm frames that I was able to try as perfect.
We have managed to find bikes now, I got myself a hardly used Fuji Feather 49cm (£200) arriving on Monday and my partner got a cheap 48cm Phat Phixie (£90) which from reading online is not the best bike but will give me an idea if she will stick with it or not. With these costs it has left some funds spare for upgrades.
Thanks to all for your help.

Thanks guys, very quick responses. Not a deal breaker for the steam but would definitly prefer risers. Will measure it up when it arrives.
Please do send me pics of anything you have! Happy to pay & donate.
My partner has also got a very cheap Phat Phixie. looks like its got some cheaper gear on it so when it arrives later today ill post some pictures and hopefully you can tell me what needs replacing :).

Hi All
So I managed to pick myself up a 2017 Fuji Track from Ebay. Arriving Monday and am fizzing.
It looks like the attached photo. I want to change the handlebars to some risers and I also prefer the more vintage looking stems, attached another photo with what I mean. Are these known as quill stems?
Looking for your guidance on what I should get, what I should consider and also if any of you have a set for sale?
Anything else you recommend I should change on the bike?

Still looking, forget to check those ebay's before they sold.
Really looking for a 49cm option, even starting to think about buying a frame and nagging you lot to help me built it up with seperate parts :).
Didnt get much work done today, too busy scrolling the net for this and refreshing the clasifieds every 20mins.

Thanks Billygoat, have just messaged them. Travel might be an issue unfortunately. It says he is 5.11 and its comfy, might be an issue for my height?
Nonowt - thanks for your response.
Honestly, have been back and forward on all of those and dont have a preference. Would only like to know the person beforehand has cared for it and its not going to fall apart.
Will be storing in a secure place both at home and at work. If I am out then it will be locked up only for a few mins and within site.
Thanks again.

Hi All
Reverting to knowledgable forums as everything in the world has a forum and they always have the best knowledge.
My gf and I are looking to find bikes to make the most of summer in London (N15) and my short commute to work (1-2km). We were looking at Hackney Cycles, Goku & Quella but doing a search in the forums its recommended we just buy a decent 2nd hand bike instead. Anyway I would prefer to help you guys get rid of old bikes or fund a new build!
Me: 170cm
Her: 160cmIdeally £200 max each but willing to go higher for a beauty.
Cheers!
Ahhhhhh I think it’s beautiful. Mrs won’t let me but I think looks wise it’s awesome!
