Looking to move this along. Bit of shame but having to face reality that I've ridden it a handful of times since building it so better to make some space.
Photos are new, so bike is exactly as here. The only thing is grips, the ones in the photo are ripped, I just put them on for pics, so will need new ones.
The wheels are the originals, rims are well worn but still got life in them.
Only issue I'd mention is the front brake has always had the screech issue, I've tried to adjust it without success. Have read online it can be due to play in the parralel push mechanism and people stripping the brakes and adding spacers to solve it? But didn't seem worth the effort for me.
I'd like £250 inc the rasket £200 without, I think that's reasonable. If not, feel free to put me right. Also have the original groupset I can include if restoration is your bag.

Been a while since any updates here! Had some surgery beginning of October which meant no bike riding for a bit. So took the opportunity to a frame swap I'd been considering for a while as the kona was out of its usual daily action and the tyres were on their last legs, while I had the wider pair for the trek ready to go that wouldn't fit in the kona, so managed to convince myself this made more sense than just buying new tyres...
Partway through I was questioning why I'm wasting my hard earned peas on building the same bike I just took apart. But actually has made a big difference and despite mostly being the same parts the trek seems to ride nicer and fit me better than the kona did. And as with my other bikes adding dynamo lighting is always a game changer.
Current forks are basic ones that were cheap on fb marketplace which work for now though pretty heavy replacing the ds2 suspension forks it came with. Hoping to eventually upgrade to something nicer/light. Maybe segmented fork or so p2's etc.
Not the best photos but just put new cassette and chain on so thought better take a couple before gets all covered in grime!

Collection in Bristol.
Rusty everywhere, I haven't looked hard but nothing obviously fucked and no stuck seat tube etc.
Was left this by a friend who emigrated, I haven't touched it since. Headset and BB probably need replacing, haven't tried to remove either. He built it as a cheap single speed so in theory was rideable with the bits currently fitted..
Cranks and seat post included.
Seat tube - 62 C-T
Top tube - 60 C-CIf no interest will take to bike project or worst case the tip.

I think I used Panelsell in the end.
Yeah I wasn't trying to push it as the best choice for walls, just mentioning it's an option. Here's I think the most relevant of the vids, there are several detailing different parts of the build https://youtu.be/ol8zYBMzG3Q
he actually puts wood cladding on the outside afterwards. but you could leave the SIP uncovered as just the metal panels -

I used this for my roof, was definitely far quicker than any other construction type. Not sure saved money, but time and effort yes.
For @Polygon on YouTube the guy from 'the restoration couple' built a full workshop out the stuff. Different profile panels as the walls. Pretty impressive, worth a watch if you're thinking about going that route as he breaks it down pretty thoroughly. Expect costs to be more than whatever he says they were though though as a few years old I think

Yeah I've been trying to figure out what to do around the edges (don't have an actual door yet), wondering whether to clad around the edge and then fit the door within the new smaller doorway formed by the cladding if that makes sense. But not sure if that will be bit fucked.
Cladding has started to grey now. Think main difference for yours is garden is sloped so it's raised up, I inulated the outside and roof is SIP rather than timber. Been pretty down about it all recently tbh, as time goes on and it's still not done I just see all the things I would of done quite a bit differently if I could start again. But once got power and space in there will be good I'm sure will feel more positive

After about a year of neglect, sorted some dynamo lights and mudflaps for the fixie, for peak commuter status. Built wheel with nexus hub that I got on here got on here with the lights and exal lx17 rim, sapim race spokes. After a bit of self made nightmare, came out pretty good!
Still need to trim rear mudflap as is a bit wide and adjust mudguard around seatpost. All the bits are random colours as it was whatever was on a deal and hopefully deters theft. So yeah not pretty but I am pretty stoked and hopefully gets me riding this again!

How is this now? Looks brilliant. I did something similar but yours seems better executed/planned out. Got the building weather tight and then progress ground to a halt as other work took priority so has become dumping ground that needs sorting. What did you do about the edges around the doors and the cladding?
what made you choose this van? did you go searching for this model/type specifically? interested as I think a lot of the older vehicles eg merc 308d etc have many desirable features compared to new ones but personally get put off worrying about the negatives of older vehicles.
Looks great btw and sounds very well thought out
