100% agree. I ruined my Honzo running it SS. @BareNecessities said it perfectly. I'd even go as far as saying SS is best fully rigid!

I'm just over 10 miles outside of Bedford as well and do a lot of tracklocross/gravel-fixed riding and singlespeed/fixed road riding around the area, but can't say I've witnessed a fixed scene anywhere I've ventured. Shame really!

I used one 150g pot on a Camper Longflap, with all its extra flappiness. Used in two sittings, after melting the first half in and leaving to sit for a day. There's something quite satisfying about the process... unless you strongly oppose to spreading your butter to the edge of the toast.

Had a similar effect on mine when first applied. Took a few blasts with a hairdryer to really melt into the material, paying particular attention to any stitching/seams or doubled canvas points. It still does appear a little patchy in areas, and more increasingly so over time. Maybe I just didn't evenly coat it as well as I thought. It would also scratch, or mark with the smallest abrasion, presumably from excess wax sitting atop the material. I think next time I'll try and clean the bag a little better before applying wax and ensure the fabric is warm when applying the wax to allow it to penetrate the material better.

Here it is, looking over the Isle of Arran and sat admirably in the Ardgartan Valley whilst riding the Wild About Argyll trail earlier this year. 10 days bikepacking and wild camping in 20+ degree heat. Not sure I'll ever get that lucky in Scotland again!

I noticed last night that the legendary Gilly, (Steve Geall) looks to be selling his DMR Bolt, if you're still tempted by one...

So Surly have discontinued the 135mm axles kits & Ison, (UK distributor) have no spares to fix the issue. If anyone's got a complete 135mm Surly hub sitting in their spares/willing to sell I'd be keen to give it a new home. Please don't make me pay Surly prices for a complete new hub just so I can pillage the internals!
