@JanWillem . Okay, that settles it - those forks must be pink!

Progress.
Carbon forks it is - for now.
Final built will have full silver bits - stem / seat post / steerer.
Seat post is giving me a bit of a headache; seems 27.0 rather than 27.2 is the correct size? will sort this out. Likely by trial and error.
the rims, for now, are silver aksiums. Stem will be updated to 120mm -17 in silver. -

It's these by Rose Bikes in black. Same in silver are what's on the CAAD 4 now (not pictured), plus I have a couple on the way for the Gazelle. Really like them (plus they're €4!!!).

New year, new project; came across this Gazelle Champion Mondial AA Special frameset in 'Piet de Wit' livery on Marktplaats, seller not too far from me. Great frame, 531 from mid nineties so with the internal rear cable routing, Cinelli spoiler BB. Final build will be much like the RIH, but 11 speed and with a few silver bits here and there. Tempted to use the Columbus Minimal forks again as well, though it feels a bit sacrilegious as the original ones look great.

Thanks for clarifying. Glad I didn't know all this when I made my modifications. Ignorance is bliss. Still happy my mods worked out.
@e54 trying to read up led me to this bikerumor article, which (I think) explains the points made above - https://bikerumor.com/aasq-45-how-can-i-fit-a-bb30-crank-in-a-threaded-bsa-frame/
How it's going - some work to be done still.
