Randomly to jump in here. What would you guys recommend to protect the paint on an old steel frame?

Does ACF-50 work to protect the paint job?

Anyone got any recommendations for a spray/grease to apply to my bike to protect the paintjob of my bike and stop it rusting?

Also made my bike much more ready for the streets of Berlin.

• Switched up the tyres to 28 conti 4seasons
  
• The shifters were knackered, so took them to a local bike shop and had dura-ace 8 speed shifters fitted
  
• The bar tape was manky, so switched to some black lizardskins bar tape
  
• Switched pedals to flat/spd XT pedals to allow me to cycle clipped-in or in normal shoes in the city.
  

Cheers lads. Went for a test ride and the brifters are absolutely knackered lol. Ah well, this is by long term upgrade bike but taking it to a local bikeshop to get replacement shifters tomorrow

New bike day! Absolutely buzzing

Saw a Merckx MX Leader on an eBay kleinanzeigen listing in Germany for 600 Euros. Bought it and might shit my pants at finding out I've either snagged the bargain of my life or the rip off of my life...

The frame was too big for me, so didn't go for it in the end. Also now I'm in Berlin, I have a feeling the customs and shipping for EU/UK shipments might be a bit of a faff right now.

Easy mate, I've just had a look and seen your seized BB thread. My jaw dropped seeing how much work you've had to put in. I hope the rest of your conversion goes much smoother!

Tbh, I can't go crazy on the big MGOOF upgrades yet, this bike will be my run around while I'm in Berlin, as I can't really leave my Carbon roadbike locked up about town without having heart palpitations that it'll get nicked so have to keep it relatively basic for the moment.

In time I'd hope to get a silver Campagnolo groupset, but for the moment, I will look into wheel, tyre, saddle, and stem upgrades.

But need to make sure it is good first this evening.

Hoping to pick this up this evening and then think I might make it into an MGOOF down the line.

Gonna call it the "Hulkamaniac.

Clearance for tyres looks like 25s will be tight. I've attached a pic to help. Also attached pics of the paint chips on the seat stays and the bar tape to match the paint.

Bike currently is set up with my security skewers, but have a pair of quick release skewers for it.

Edit: Additionally, the blue cap on the front wheel is cracked (pic shown) but this does not affect rideability and apparently is quite common for 2st gen Cosmics.
