I've been dealing with a meniscal tear, subsequent menisectomy & associated knock-on bullshit for the last 15 years - sounds familiar!
I find that keeping my feet pretty narrow, stacking the joints & kicking the hips back as much as possible helps - I don't take squats past parallel. Those stretchy knee wraps with velcro are good - I go into a 100kg squat looking like i'm shaping up for a WR.
It's a bit of a balancing act to strengthen the leg muscles as much as possible without aggravating it, I can really feel it if I overdo it. I usually ease off on the strength stuff during the summer months when i'm on the bike more, then when the weather turns to shit it's back in the gym without worrying too much about fatigue.
@Ptown Great effort! No chance i'll see a 2 plate bench this side of 2025 but it'll come, gp sent me for an elbow x-ray incase there's an avulsion fracture - might be time to knock it on the head for this year

Nice - sounds like you're pretty much there, was that singles?
I'm determined to get 140 before the Christmas break, did 3x3 at 135 last week which upset my knee a bit, so i'll be sticking to one heavy set then backing it right off as I creep it up.
Also had grand plans for 100 on the bench but my bastard elbow has put the brakes on that - ah well!

So, after "tweaking" my elbow at the start of October, it's not getting any better - in fact it's probably worse & i've just gotten used to it...
I've still been going to the gym but have taken out the "pull" exercises at that seemed to aaggravate it most, but my common sense is finally making an appearance so i'm most likely knocking it on the head for a while.
Google-fu suggests it's lateral epicondylitis, or tennis elbow - anyone have experience with this? Have a doctor appointment next week, but i'm guessing lifting weights is going to be off the cards for a bit - certianly don't want to make it worse.

Yeah, I was talking to the builder as they took the fences down & he was saying he reckoned this was one of the best value builds they'd done, they're all lifelong skaters so they put a lot of efffort into the layout - https://www.instagram.com/concreateskateparks/
I've ridden it on a big wide pool deck and on a surfskate & it rolls really nice - seen a few proper skaters absolutely flying round it too, something for everyone

Kasso is great - can always rely on the Japanese game show producers to make a random idea really entertaining!
In other skateboard news, another new park recently appeared 5 minutes down the road - decent size for a change, shame the weather has turned to absolute shite before I could get more than half an hour on it

I had a similar issue & ended up building a 27.5 wheelset with some spare hubs & cheap rims. Could fit 1.9" tyres where the 700c was limited to 35c as the chainstay narrowed in quite a bit towards the BB junction but had more space further back. Would picking up a cheap 650c/27.5" wheelset with tyres work & having a 700c set for smooth road rides / 650c for everything else?

Not too bad thanks - did feel a bit drained afterwards but ok! Most importantly my lower back & legs feel fine, bit of elbow/ribs/knee niggle but that's par for the course - I did push it a bit having not pulled a deadlift in a year.
Also turns out 140 is a PB - I thought I hit that last year but it was 130, bonus! There's progress to be made, but i'll go back to 3x5 @ 75-85% and see how that feels then go from there.
Hope you've avoided the barbell hangover - i've overdone it a few times & takes me days to recover!

Have been slowly adding weight back on after recent elbow/ribs misfortune - managed 3 x 6 @ 86kg, then 1 x 3 at 90kg on the bench so there may be hope for a 100kg single before the year is out after all!
Squats are 3x3 @ 132kg on "heavy" days so a 140kg single should also be do-able soon, wary of aggravating my dodgy knee so i'll go forth slowly in 2kg increments but keep the heaviest set as 1x3, then do a couple of slightly lighter ones.
Also started doing some deadlifts this morning for the first time in ages - built up to a single at 140kg, was a struggle though so will be slow progress there. Will see how my ribs / elbow feels tomorrow before planning any more...

Keep at it - i'm just starting to get back to half decent form after losing 5kg in July on the Mexican seafood diet, but that's another (ghastly) story...
It'll come back - even if you have to knock the weight back a bit now, once you start adding it on again the strength will come back much quicker than you gained it first time round. Even if there's no consistency, doing anything as & when you can will be beneficial in the long run.

Aye, it's pretty straightforward & the service instructions are all on the SRAM site- pick up a basic service kit & do the seals at the same time and you're golden. The recon golds are pretty basic but mine were really plush after a service & reasonably light.
Rigid single speed is a decent option - frame fits 2.35" Vittoria Barzos which are pretty light and roll well for the size, no gears and a rigid crabon fork up front would make it pretty nimble

I have the 2x10 version of this in the small flavour - forks also came set to 80mm, think it was size that determined the travel. You should be able to remove one or two internal spacers to give you 100/120mm, I did this & it was a great improvement, every 20mm slackens the head angle by a degree or two - I ended up settling with 100mm then eventually replaced everything on the bike - they're good frames, worth a bit of tinkering
From memory the stock bars were pretty narrow, even changing those & sticking some chunkier tyres on made it feel a bit more confident, but increasing the travel a bit made the biggest improvement.

High st. wise I'm finding the Aldi ultimates hard to beat - 2 pack for £2.50, not tried the M&S bakery ones yet but they're supposed to be good too. Heard good things about Cafe Nero from the coffee chain perspective.
