Having come here for advice after i readopted my old cat when the grandkid was discovered to be allergic. Its with a heavy heart i must report that Claymore, scourge of Alsatians and neighbourhood kids, has passed. Poor old sod had a low weight when i got him back and began to pile the beef back on. But a sudden weight loss and he stopped eating and was drooling excessively. This meant a trip to the vets and a diagnoses of kidney failure. So I'm likely haunting this feed to get my cat fix. My son helped me clear out the cats stuff last week and its surprising how much he accumulated in 6 months ish which my sister has accepted for her moggie.

You'd think people have seen at least some of the light after the thugs torched buildings etc. But on my FB I'm still seeing people in my local community group giving it "I'm not a racist, I'm just concerned for my country and the mass influx of immigration"
Honestly the most depressing thing is seeing folk justify this behavior as patriotism. At least it made it easy to know who just drop from my friends list in the next FB cull.

I wish i had technical difficulties to blame. I would regularly get passed by both male and female cyclists on my former commute, on one occasion by a family, and i was always honest.
Despite the calls of "do you have a puncture?" "do you need a hand?" "are you ok?"my reply is always and unerringly "I'm fine, just knackered huge gasp and horrifically unfit"
I no longer commute, still get passed though.

Folks, I'm travelling with work in a few weeks and I'm going to attempt to take my bike with me. I no longer have the box so I'm looking into either acquiring a box from the local shop or possibly getting a bike bag. Does anyone have any cheapish recommendations for a bag? My bike has drop bars if that makes any difference (old gravel bike).

Folks. Has anyone here tried a self cleaning/automatic litter box? I’m considering it as my son dislikes cleaning the manual litter tray and an automatic one should see the cat right until I get back from working away.
I’m currently considering the elspet ball shaped one. Hoping for some recommendations or warnings -

I came here a while ago for cat advice, and had decided a rescue may be the way to go as I was reticent to move my elderly cat who my daughter had adopted when I moved house.
This eventually was abandoned as I travel with work and would leave the cat with only my son for company and I dont have time for the cat to house train him.
Fast forward to last week when my daughter discovered my grandson has developed a cat allergy. So frantic discussions with the vet and son on relocated my former psychopathic moggy to live with me ensued. To cut a long story short my delightfully evil overlord Claymore (named after the anti personel mine he emulated when leaving a travel box when we first got him) is back with me and has already whipped my son into shape. To the point the cat will wake my lad up everyday even after ive fed the furry monster.
This is what greets my lad every morning with a slap to the chops for a second feed

I'm still in the research stage at the moment. Need to determine if my home life would be suitable for them. I travel for work every few weeks for a week, but my adult son shares a home with me and is also a huge cat fan so the cat will still have a suitable minion and servant. I'm just concerned if the cat will have enough space in a 3 bed semi if its an indoor cat.
any suggestions of reputable breeders? -
I'm deeply tempted by the big cats but the area i live in, folk steal dogs out of the yard if you aren't careful. Id be devastated to lose a cat of any type but standard moggies tend to run from strangers and aren't that identifiable from a distance as anything other than a murderball of fluff.
Its quite a semi rural location so theres plenty of sheep and cows for it to hunt too. -
I just don’t know hence the query. I’m hoping some folk here have the breed and can give insight. I’ve never had an indoor cat. They’ve all been intent on the immediate murder of everything with a few miles of the house. Which included the guy over the roads Alsatian which would cross the car park to avoid my garden and the inevitable ambush.

Ive had what my family referred to as moggies for years. Basically a post office cat. Mixed heritage and mild murder tendencies. I got one at my last home and he stayed with me for years before my daughter adopted him as i moved and it seemed cruel to uproot him when he'd drummed the fear of god into every dog, cat and wild beast with a few miles.
Fast forward to no and i'm finally ready to readopt another cat and have discovered maine coon cats. They are fantastic huge beasties and i'm rapidly falling for them. But can they be allowed to roam as i have with my previous cats? I cant help but worry should i go down this route some unscrupulous scrote will steal it while its prowling around hunting cows and such like.

Can confirm. My flat headed idiot of a Labrador would regularly convince my son he that he needed to feed the poor doggo cos i had forgotten. To the point we had a tick chart on the dog food container. Tick means the dogs lying.
Despite the multiple second breakfasts the dogs eyes could still bore through walls at the food on your plate.
I cuffed off and deleted my twitter a fair while ago because it degenerated in to just hate and bigotry instead of pictures of bikes and stuff i actually cared about. Ive just got bluesky and im struggling to get my head around how it works for feeds. Any suggestions of good tags thingys (probably not the right name for em) to follow?
