LFGSS and Microcosm shutting down 16th March 2025 (the day before the Online Safety Act is enforced)
Noooooo...the hours I spend on here, soaking up knowledge, culture, opinions, and memes. I only managed to join one ride (MTB around Haunts/Berks, so it wasn't even actual FG, SS, or in L) but it was great, with lovely people.
@Velocio - thank you for running it so well for so long. It's an absolute pleasure compared to the rest of the internet.

Clamp a straight edge such as a long spirit level to the door with two clamps, at the required distance from your cut line to allow your circular saw to run along it nice and straight. And buy a decent, high tooth count, circular saw blade for nice smooth cuts.
No outlay on spenny new tools, upgrade of your existing circular saw, win win...?

As far as I can tell, absolutely fine. Think about the forces acting across the HG body compared to when it's holding a cassette - arguably SS puts less strain on the HG body than gears as the force only stays in one plane...but I'm definitely not a mechanical engineer and I'm sure that something something wheel stiffness with a wider-dished SS-specific hub.
Another plus of a conversion kit is that you can fine tune chainline.

First/at the bottom, a drainage layer, then a growing medium or substrate layer, then sedum or actual seeds on topsoil, depending on what you're going for.
These guys are good
