Truly awful to look at.

Major issue with my dog this week. He's taken to lunging at cars and growling, it's really intense and stressful.

I've tried;
Distracting him with treats
Slightly tugging the lead prior to the car getting to us
Telling him to leave/stop/back

All to no avail. I'm resigned to only walking him around fields to avoid. But I can't avoid cars forever.

Has anyone had any similar issues? How did you resolve them? I've booked a session with a dog trainer tomorrow, but I can't just £50 very often.

Does anyone else have a problem padding a boot out. I have a nice pair of brogue boots. I'm a size 10 and the size is fine, the toe box fits well. but its the upper part of the boot I have issue with because ankles are pretty weedy and my feet are quite shallow, they don't fill the boot very well.

Can some recommend me a good place to buy potatoes? I've no idea how much to buy but would like to have plenty of potatoes through the year.

I'm not an aficionado but as I understand it you put cardboard down to block the sunlight and weed seeds getting in to the soil. Whilst adding compost or manure on top.

I've never tried it before. On the area where I have started the weeds are massively reduced. So will do the whole plot next year.

I've spent the last few months putting bags of horseshit down on top of cardboard and it seems to be making a difference to the number of weeds.

I've only done 1/4 of the plot so far. As we're about to go into the next growing season I won't be putting anymore down until September, then will make the effort to cover the whole plot.

I made a big effort to try and make the plot look nice last year. This year will be purely about how much can I grow.

I planted pak choi, lettuce, onions. Nothing really coming of it. I planted it on a whim and netted it.

Garlic however is loving life lots growing.

I'm thinking that the first year or 3 of an allotment depending on your situation is basically clearing and enriching the sight.

Ours was a state when we got it and the soil condition was terrible.

A regular 400ml can of paint will give you up to 50 A4 sized stencils. This means you can become incredibly famous/unpopular in a small town virtually overnight for approximately ten pounds.

EVERY car should be low as fuck IMHO.

I think I'm going to get one. Based on the commuting/holiday-ing alone it's a good idea. I do love looking at books, especially second hand books. I like knowing that multiple people have passed the book along.

But space is at a premium in our house. My wife won't entertain books shelves because this will give me license to buy even more books. (She's not a reader.)

I also like buying first editions if I can find them, but that's just me being a snob.

Dexter has recently started doing this I think he's suicidal.

The latest solution is to stop. hold a treat near his face until the cars gone by and I say "leave" it works most of the time, except for really big trucks.
