I'm moving out of London on Monday and have had these spare wheels in my flat for a while now. Kinda leaving it till the last minute because I had a notion to keep them and pack them up in the bike box but realistically I think I'm just hoarding and not likely to use them again any time soon.
Definitely had plenty of wear, and there's a bit of rattling going on in the front one, but still some life in them imo. They aren't 100% a matching pair either, but the spoke patterns look and sound great so tbh I think this is only a good thing. Will leave the old cassette on them as I already packed my chain-whip into a box!
£10 OBO. Collection London E3 only.
Cheers!

Look, all I'm saying is that yeah it's cool they apologised and all but I guess they've got a bit more to do before they win back people's trust. Think that's not totally unfair given the fact that the apology still tried to rationalise what they were doing, and given that a day beforehand they were deleting comments on the original post pretty much making the same complaint as us in the hope that nobody would kick off about it. Am I saying that they are therefore unforgivable or fundamentally bad? No, of course not, give them the chance to make it up. But also saying 'we fucked up' is kinda the bare minimum. Like reputation is more of a track record thing than it is admitting what you did was bad when enough people call it out. Other people seem to have good examples on this thread suggesting that it's part of a pattern rather than an isolated mistake. That information seems relevant. I genuinely do hope that they turn it around and make the effort to be a good business/employer and not just do the bare minimum they can get away with. But then again that's their business and not mine...

Yeah saw the comments on there, unsurprisingly the gammon army comes out in full force whenever something like this happens. Was tempted to wade in myself but really don't feel like I've got the time or energy to go up against professional landlords with nothing better to do than skull cans of Lo-carb Monster Energy and spend the day on social media larping as anointed guardians of societal morality. Like I guess they do it as some kind of weird bargaining ritual with their subconscious telling them that the world is changing but whatever. The people who did comment seemed to have a pretty good handle on it and I think just liking those responses does enough to send the message whilst depriving people who think 'not paying people for work is good actually' of the oxygen.
Also agree that the apology from HP was quite mealy mouthed. I guess they'd already undermined the notion that they really wanted to learn anything by deleting all the critical comments until it became too big for them to continue doing that. At the end of the day all of these statements are just canned woke corporatism (literally every single one of them is horny for their 'community', even companies like Lockheed Martin and Raytheon talk about 'community' these days!). Talk is cheap so I don't put much store by them in any case. At the end of the day though I don't really care much about their apology because it doesn't affect anyone other than themselves, but glad that the pressure managed to get the ad down. We won that battle and that's all that matters.

Yeah don't think the 'volunteer' title is much of an upgrade to be honest. People shouldn't be working for free on the conditional possibility that they 'may' get a job after a few months.
"Our last Volunteer, who came forth and offered her time, has now taken a living wage paid position and is a valued member of our team. "
Good for her but doesn't make you any better for exploiting the fact that people everywhere are so desperate to find jobs at the moment. They should've given her a job from day one instead of making her 'prove' herself before they decided to take her on.
Edit: Also, funny how she's only being considered a 'valued' member of the team now that she's fully employed by them. Wonder what she was before that...

Hey all, long-time lurker but infrequent user so apologies in advance if this has already come up elsewhere on the forum. A friend of mine brought this to my attention today: Hackney Peddler trying to get students to clean bikes for free and calling it an unpaid 'internship'. I know all businesses are struggling atm but this is super dodgy and also illegal. If people on here know the business owners think it would be good to get the word out and have them take it down or offer a paid position. Lots of other independent bike shops could try to pull this shit and don't and imo these guys should be held to the same standard.
Here's the link to the job advertisement, hopefully they'll just realise that they've made a mistake and nothing more comes of it.

Some bits bike related and others not. Based in E3 near Hackney Wick. Can post everything apart from the keyboard at buyer's expense (will do standard Royal Mail unless another method is specifically requested). Everything apart from keyboard can also be collected from near King's X before 2pm on Mon, Tue, and Fri. Paypal is best if you can manage it.
Assos IJ Habu size S (black)- £60
Great condition, only used it for ~1 season. Good for 'early winter', would say best for autumn rides and probably won't be enough on its own in Dec-Jan unless you have especially thick skin.Assos LS Mille Intermediate size xs (Red sleeve)- £40
Same as above, used ~1 season, probably even less in fact just because I prefer ss jerseys most of the time. Xs but a looser fit so fine for most people who wear s comfortably.Canon Eos 100 35mm film camera body + roll of Ilford Xp2 B&W film (iso400)- £10
Used as a backup but been sitting on my shelf for a year now. Think the battery in there is fairly new. Shutter-tested and works fine. Comes without a lens but Canon EF lenses can be picked up cheap enough these days. Film bnib, this will need to be developed with c41 rather than standard b&w processing.Novation Nocturn 49 midi keyboard- £30
Older model but still works great, 49 keys plus 8 drum pads. Full overview here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHopPQFPE4U
Sadly I ditched the original box so will have to be picked up as is. As mentioned above this must be collected from e3.Jagwire Inner Break cable (1700)- free with any of the bits above
First come first-serve. Just lmk if you want it. Don't have any use for it myself but seems silly to charge more than a quid for it and don't really want the hassle of arranging pickup/ postage for a cable.Broken Campag 10sp Centaur Shifters for Parts or Repair- Free

Okay, so unfortunately @andyfallsoff I'm in a similar situation with respect to time and probably wouldn't be in the London Bridge area too often anyway so I'm gonna have to offer it elsewhere. @cjr dibs'ed/messaged me first so I'm gonna offer it to him, @tomatoe has second dibs if he doesn't get back to me.

Bought this around a year ago but developed an intolerance to coffee soon after and ended up getting very little use out of it. Was holding off on selling it in the hope that the intolerance was only temporary but seems pretty certain that I can't drink coffee anymore so hoping to send it to a better home.
Only used it for a month or so before I had to stop drinking coffee altogether so the burrs should still be in almost new condition. It doesn't grind fine enough for espresso but really great for filter coffee.
More info on the grinder here: https://www.hasbean.co.uk/products/wilfa-svart-aroma-grinderLooking for £50, collection from Finsbury Park. Not posting because it's a bit too much hassle, can potentially arrange pickup from central London depending on the time/day.
Cheers.

This is extremely helpful info, and thanks so much for taking the time to type it all out! I had figured as much about the shifters being over-rotated when I took a closer look myself. Found that the cable end was definitely where it shouldn't be so I'd say this diagnosis sounds spot on.
It has actually happened on both shifters pretty much in the first day of riding and I definitely didn't hear anything snap or see anything fall out when it happened, so I think I may have been sold a dud, or at least it seems like the stops were broken by the previous owner!
Will take your advice on setting up the cable tension and FD correctly for now, may eventually want to also take you up on the offer to have new stops installed a bit further down the line but I'm a bit cash strapped right now so may have to wait a couple of weeks and see how the short term solution holds up.
Appreciate the help and expert knowledge!
