I asked a similar question recently, and @MisterMikkel suggested using a wooden former or a sandbag below the guard and tapping or clamping a dowel above it to make the indentation across the guard. Thread is here: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/127708/?offset=5925#comment17559950.

On my road bike, the vertical clearance at the brake bridge is really tight. (You can see it in the image below.) The thing is, it's not the brake bridge that's the problem - it's the brake itself, which extends downwards from the brake bridge by a few mm.
Is there any way I can dimple the mudguard across the top to give the brake some room? Or is there a different brake I could fit which is less bulky?

VO mudguards come with these (https://velo-orange.com/products/fender-reinforcement), which you can apparently buy on their own.

If they're metal, you can dimple them to make room for the stays: https://somervillebikes.wordpress.com/2020/03/12/how-to-install-metal-fenders-part-iii-installing-the-stays/.

Schwalbe Billy Bonkers have been good for me. Good in town and on dirt paths.

Nice! I was going for the same thing with this: https://www.lfgss.com/comments/17435200/. (I missed.)
What bars are those?

New dad bike. I wrote entirely too much about it here.

What awful news. I always looked out for new posts from Maj - she had a knack for very funny, very perceptive writing.
