I have an old Dawes Road Bike from the 80s, but it needs new wheels. Braking is so slow, and I'm told I need new wheels to get the most out of my brakes.
Does anyone know any good workshops around Old Street, Farringdon or Peckham?
Any idea the types of wheels and prices I'd be looking at? Any info you've got is a big help; I'm just a novice cyclist at the moment.

Jesus Christ, never thought I'd be threatened after posting a bloody bargain bike.
Yes, the tyres have changed because the crappy tyres that came with it punctured on my first ride.
Yes, I have my original cycle-to-work documentation, and I even have a UK bank account, a passport, have been in full-time employ for 8 years, pay national insurance, and have been living here since birth. Wow.
No need to do a Liam Neeson, mate ;)
This thread is fantastic, I'm going to send it round to a few mates who'll have a right laugh.

Bike has been ridden once, new Schwalbe Durano types put on last week (never been ridden) because I got a puncture on my first ride.
I basically got this under the ride work scheme but never used the bike.
Pretty good deal for a new bike as I'm told the frames on these are better than most off-the-shelf bikes.
Yours for £150 cash, as it's taking up space in the flat and I know nothing about bikes.
(see poor photo)
:)
Thanks for the tip, I'll have to get my hands on a magnate.
