Rather than design a better bike light, I'd say launch a campaign to raise awareness of dynamo lights. IMO most modern LED cycle lights are pretty ok, the main barrier and safety issue is that its hard to remember to charge and put lights on your bike in the first place.
Because of cultural issues, most UK cyclists aren't aware of the existence of dynamos. I'd just encourage more people to use dynamos in everyday cycling.

LFGSS and Microcosm shutting down 16th March 2025 (the day before the Online Safety Act is enforced)
I’m not a lawyer or a politician but I’m pretty sure the purpose of the Act isn’t to shut down all online forums and communities in the UK, we’re talking literally hundreds of thousands of forums. Hell, my local church has an online community forum.
This seems rather hasty, perhaps see what the deal is when Ofcom release their online tool for checking compliance in January.
I help to run one of the larger London cycle clubs, we have to deal with risk assessments, safeguarding rules and insurance if something goes wrong, sure it’s admin stuff to do but it’s not impossible. Sounds like people are willing to chip in.

BikeInn have started resending stuff to the UK. I bought a Secuzed from there a few weeks ago and it came easily without extra Brexit faff. Good prices, and actual availability of excellent dynamo stuff.

I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that public polling found that generally most people would be happy to pay a little more tax in return for better community stuff. I'll see if I can find it.
Yeah so all the narrative from the right wing media about tax is actually against public sentiment on the whole.

but I’m shocked at simple things like how badly overgrown pavements are as soon as you leave the town centre, how few bike railings there are, and generally why no roads have been pedestrianised in such a beautiful old town with tiny pavements.
I spoke to a councillor about this when I was in Lewes last, the town council is Green but the highways are managed centrally by East Sussex which is Tory dominated. So you have this messed up form of democracy where the town council cant change their own roads, they've tried to widen the pavements etc, but the East Sussex Tories love the through traffic and refuse any requests for change.
Gross vehicle weight is 6730 lbs - over 3 tonnes!
You’ll be getting good value for money on your estate management fees from the replaced broken pavers.
