I've had my first child and I am keen to stop driving everywhere and start carting the nipper around on the bike.
Looking for some advice on what you have found works best/you feel most comfortable with?
I live up some steps so don't really want anything super heavy e.g. cargobike.
I've got several 80s/90s 531 touring frames and a recent 525 which I could adapt, but don't want to do anything which could damage the bike and by extension the sprog.
First thoughts are to have her sitting on the top tube as opposed to the panier rack.

@furious_tiles - Thanks for getting back to me so swiftly.
He's 6ft 3 and probably still going.. lovely Spa bike, but I think the romantic in me wants lugs. Cheers for the offer.@Foreigner65 she's beautiful! DM incoming.

My god son is now old enough to be pushed towards the light and discover steel is real.
Looking for a Reynolds 531 (or similar) frame or complete bike which would be suitable for a first road bike. Something which can be left outside a pub (in a few years time), but also could do some touring with some tinkering.

Had the joyous event of my Campag derailleur snapping off into my old steel frame. I now find myself in the position whereby I need a new derailleur but finding a Campag centaur 10 speed QS Med/triple mech derailleur isn't the easiest task in the world.
Any ideas if my Campag Centaur Carbon 10 speed QS shifters will work with a new Centaur (or other) 11 speed rear derailleur?
