Oh, a very touchy answer. I was close enough...kinda expected this type of kindness from you. I am on forums for a long time, more than 2009, I saw a lot of different people, a few like you, only pride and glory. There is always a "we-us-our", but you forget that it's only about you. Fighting online with people like you, who are very strong behind the keyboard, might only one thing. But you've got my point.
I am admin/moderator/member for a few forums, but who cares. I respect people from other forums/countries/facebook groups/newbies/dumb or maybe more or less technical people, no matter what. And I always help, even some people are really newbie/dumb/you name it...we all started from somewhere. But you forget that, isn't it?
Maybe I am from "2007", like you said, but I don't have memory problems. The only answer I've got from you was about SL hubs are tested. No explications. I never buy something without understand what that product do. If I wanted this kind of help I could buy some wheels set and that's it. But I always care about what I bought.
Need an example for better understanding?
"Hey, matte, what you think about Mazda?"
"Buy it!"
"Yes, master!"Last though. "we-us-our", there is some people who answered to my questions. Very well appreciated! But not from you. Anyway "I was actually really nice", no offence taken, but nice bullshit, well served. 1 point for you. Happy now?
Maybe I am wrong, no harm intended. I am a very peaceful guy, also fair and I don't need to be spoon fed. A lot of stress, my father it's in coma, sick, and my country is close to another revolution because politically sh*t . I come in here just to keep the mind occupied with something nicer and finish this project.
Like I said, if you don't wanna help, no offense taken. Some people are nicer, some people don't. Thanks again!

Hey, man, I have asked kindly for some help. If you don't want to help, I will be fine.
Also, if you notice, I put some serious questions few days ago, but nobody answered, even I ask you about it. I have asked about hubs, x2 or x3 also, 32 or 28 spokes, etc...Maybe my English is not very good, also I am not so technical like you; I've said before, this is my 1st project.
So I don't think you must be rude and using fucking word was really necessarily. If you have any problem because I am from another country, just let me know. Thanks!

Thanks for advice!
I was thinking to give a try from 32/32 to a 28/28, with H+Son, but I hold until I understand much better what you've said "Also you need to up the spoke count, use a stiffer rim e.t.c to compensate for the loss of stiffness over using race spokes."
Also, I would love to have both wheels identical, just for a aesthetically feeling. Could be radial a choice?
I made some homework lately and just a note only - I read that D-light spokes usually are for disk brakes.
About nipples, my Specialized FSR Elite (DTSwiss wheels) and gf's 29er Specialized Jett Expert (Scout wheels), both are using red nipples. I think those are alloy. Mtbs' are getting a lot of water, dirt, shocks, crashes, etc. and I was thinking that red nipples, even alloy, will be fine for a city bike too. I didn't find any brass red nipples at the moment (I found some no name brass on Aliexpress, but I would not risk to buy from there) -

A lot of people are choosing not to use aero brakes. So I am. I am sorry, but this is my project. I understand that is not the prettiest look in the world. Anyway, this is not so important at the moment, I will think about this brakes later, I need the wheels, sooner, better.
That lever is missing on Campa brakes. If I wanna use aero or this brakes, how can I remove the wheel?
LE. another though is that the handlebar will not cover full bulllhorn, only the horns a little bit. A nice thing is that I found some pretty good cheap carbon aero brakes a few minutes ago.

Do you mean this model? All mine are bladed spokes.
I must order like yesterday this spokes and hubs. I have a 15% off deal, last day deal, from an online store for Stumery Archer. I don't know what to do...
Any thoughts about Mavic Open Pro compared to H+Son's rims?
This nipples will be fine?@Thuekr I don't know, maybe a 20h front hub, Novatec A291SB-SL? Also is only 60gr.

I am looking for a nice black hubs 28 or 32 for 42SL or Archetypes rims, regular rider 5000 km /year. Sturmey Archer (only 32h) or do I have other option, close to the same price range?
Sapim Polyax and 56/64 spokes. Prices for 64 spokes are
Sapim CX-Ray, a small kitney, 180euro
Sapim Race, 51euro
Sapim D-Light, 64euro
DT Swiss Aero, 102eurobut I don't wanna spend a fortune on the spokes. Race or D-Light maybe.

Indeed, but I wanna see my bike as a...idk in english, but in my language is called Nun. So, every time some said a bike with bullhorn must have aero brakes, I am thinking about this insect, callded Mantis.
Also, how can I pull the cables through the bullhorn? I don't see any drill in the bullhorn. Anyway, this kind of handlebar was made for pista framesets, not ssp, I will not take my bike into a contest.Too bad instead ppl don't answer to my questions... @edmundro any brake will work? Are you sure? We are talking about Campa calipers. Please let me know which brake I should use and how can I remove the wheel without shimano/sram clamp. Thanks!

Thanks for suggestion, but sram is 169 euro and sg75... Idk. Miche is like 120 Euro. Sram 300 is 99E, BB included, GPX too, but I don't like the look, even I am a Sram fan.
Indeed, Omnium is nicer, but...I am already over my budget. I will try to find a better price, but I was no lucky so far.Anyone knows a black cog 21,22 or 23? I find only silvers...Black wheels, izumi black chain, black hub...a silver cog looks like a nut in the wall.

Thank you! It seems Sturmey Archer are not made for less than 32h. About the spokes, J aero bladed, double butted, close to 350 grams (for 64 spokes), black, I guess it would be more than fine. Also I don't like to spend a fortune on the spokes, but I am looking for a nice balance between lightness, shiftiness. Usually city bikes are selling comfort, good looking, stuff like this...
The last four days I was on Steve site reading about tires, rims width and height and different profile rim shapes. Btw. Archetype's ETRTO is 17mm?
Do should I expect from this SA hubs, how many km? 2k at least? Could I hope for 5k? Should I go for other like Miche, Novatec, etc?
@Wyshniukas @ugosantalucia - indeed, e = euros. I will write full currency name, idk the shortcut for €.
Just a curiosity. I never ride carbon wheels. Is such a big difference of comfort, shiftiness vs alloy wheels? Why is that?
-
H+Son Archetype are expensive, 72e per wheel on wiggle. The CNC's 42SL are 45e per wheel (+24 shipping). Hmm...only 30e difference. Not so bad. There is a better price than 72e per wheel?
Also, sturmey archer hubs will be fine? Any suggestions for spokes and nipples (I know, red)? Also, rim tape should be 16mm or 22mm? Velox should be good enough? A lot of newbie questions, sorry...
-
Good point. But I will use brakes, it's a ssp project, not a fixie one, because it's a lot of traffic here and not so much rules...drivers, specially cab drivers, don't give a... for cycling. For that reason (traffic) I will use a 44/20 or 49/22 ratio too.
Did I mention that we don't have such a "cycling highway" or dedicated roads like in Denmark? Yes, it's sad.
LE.Otherwise the CNC's SL42 are 45e and the Archy are 71e, even they are lighter. Hmm, I don't know what to say/

The beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Can we move on, beside the 2007-clown red nipples , please?
Another nice example (H+Son, Chris King, Sapim CXRay, DTSwiss, etc), from 2015. You can think about me that I am from Neanderthal, I am fine with that, if your advice will help my project that will look like I want in the best possible way :)

Oh, I get it. My idea comes from a nice hand made frame with some black and red finish. Also from Specialized, newer bikes. My gf have on his bike black rims, spokes, but red nipples and looks interesting.
LE. Also Mavic use red's on his Elite wheels. Much better, I think, than Equipe (Ksyrium) with blue rims...

Hi guys, new here. Looking for a nice combination of
- H+Son 42SL (or smth else),
- black spokes (bladeish or not), maybe Sapim/DTSwiss
- red nipples (Sapim does not have Brass red color, but I think I could find another choice for this nipples just to use red)
- Sturmey Archer hubs will be a interesting choice (50gbp, front+rear flip-flop), black, 32h both hubs. I have 73kg and I hope I going under
What do you think? Can anyone approximately know the weight of this wheel set? Let's see : 1230 rims, 600 SA F+R, 307 Dlight Sapim, 64 nipples...2160gr?
- H+Son 42SL (or smth else),
Maybe he was for others, I can't disagree. But for me he was not. I don't have any problem with that, but I don't like people who are not polite with other members just because some are "the best" in the filed. Behind every wheel there is a human...
I am a fair guy. I always appreciate peoples help, not only for me, for others members too. I am very helpful in my domain(s) too, I make no difference. I expected the same. If not, it's fine. Like I said, some people are nicer, some people don't. It's a big world.
