Got my hands on this, CAAD6 Saeco. Not doing a period correct build but got DA 7800 and Reynolds AR58's to go on to it.

Pretty stoked, been keeping my eyes open for one of these for a while.

Mine was making a weird noise, took the wheel out, rotated the axle a bit and put it back in, clamped it up and all good.

That was 4 years ago.

Got some new hoops for the CAAD 3, ready for summer down under!

Fine without mudguards, a bit of finesse required with them.

Mudguards off for a gravel race last weekend. Rains are coming in the southern hemisphere though.

5 hours on the CAAD 3 this morning, didn't feel like an ounce of energy was wasted.

Not perfect, but very adaptable as I do like to go back to Single speed every now and then.

My Singular Peregrine, Stridsland fork, Nitto finishing kit etc etc.

Had it years and never fails to make me smile or haul whatever is needed. Just need to fiddle around and get the front guard fitted.

That sucks, no issues as of yet but I've only ridden them 500km or so since I got the groupset second hand. Will keep an eye out though.

Annoyingly I have been dealing with multiple failed Ultegra 8000 cranks at work and was hoping the older stuff was less likely to suffer with similar issues.

DA7800, 53/39 - 11/25. It's pretty flat where I am thankfully.

I bought the giant for $100 AUD with mostly original kit on it, I had the wheels sitting around so thought I'd spice it up a bit.

I was a little curious why the donor bike with 7800 was so cheap but the lady had pictures of her racing it previously so it seemed fine and she just wanted rid of it. I missed out on getting a set of Spinergy 4 spoke wheels from her too which is a shame.

I am in the sticks a bit (southwest Western Australia) so not a huge market for older bikes like this down here.

In total this bike owes me $1225 AUD. Yep alloy rear stays and carbon main tubes. Pretty happy with how it rides too. Weighs bang on 9kg.
