Really nice build. One day I’ll get a Riv frame just like that but for time being I’ve built up a Riv inspired bike with a Crosscheck. I built wheels with same rims you have (a bargain at £40 from Spa cycles). I polished up some cheap Tektro 720’s and added koolstop pads and braking is really good.
Not sure how to post pics, hope this works

Spa Cycles has a good selection of chainrings. I use their own zircal rings 48/33 with 11 speed

Looking good.
If you decide to build your own wheels I can recommend the wheel building guide by Roger Musson https://www.wheelpro.co.uk/wheelbuilding/book.php
If your looking for decent rims have a look at Kinlin. Many of the hunt wheels look like they use Kinlin rims. I’ve built up several different Kinlin rims with dt Swiss 350 and Miche hubs using alpina spokes and they have built up really nicely both 2 or 3 cross. I built them on a homemade truing stand using the instructions by Roger Musson.

Been following the builds on here for sometime and thought I would post my own build of a Fairlight Strael. My only reservation was the fork was not painted to match and was black. I asked if they could paint the fork to match but alas that was not an option. I decided to order the Strael in deep grey (RAL7021) in the tall option (bad back) and have the fork painted elsewhere. So frame was ordered in Aug 2018 and finally arrived in Jan 2019. The fork was dropped off with Cheshirecycles and 6 weeks later it came back painted to match the frame. It looked great and a perfect match.
So onto the build.
I built some wheels with 350 hubs, Kinlin XR rims, ACI spokes. All was going well until I mounted the rear wheel. It was clear the wheel was not centred so I assumed dish was out but this was not the case as I checked this by flipping the wheel.
An email to Fairlight and they arranged to have the frame picked up the next day and sent me a new one a few days later.
I wanted a 48/33 chainset and found a cheap one at Spa Cycles. When it arrived it looked like it is made from a triple chainset with the back filed down a bit. But no problem as it’s sold as a double so will work fine. I also ordered the recommended 110mm square taper BB.
I fitted the BB and the rest of the build went quite smoothly until I started adjusting the front derailuer. The derailuer couldn’t go out far enough because the chain line of the “triple” was about 46mm and not the usual 43.5mm of a double. So no problem, I ordered a new Square taper 107mm BB. This was fitted but now the back of the chainset was binding on the BB shell so out with the file to shave a few more mm off the back of the chainset and all was good.
Finished the build and took it for a spin. It is really nice and smooth on 32mm tubeless tyres and I’m very happy with the matched fork. Interestingly Fairlight have just started offering a matched fork for the new orange frame.

Liking this build and love the mudguard solution.
I built up a cdf last year with 650b. One problem I've encountered is handlebar vibration/wheel shimmy. Mines built with a 58cm frame and carbon fork. Any ideas how to rectify this. I can stop it once it starts by leaning a leg on the cross tube but it would be good to stop it happening in the first place.

How do these compare to nitto m18 racks. https://www.bricklanebikes.co.uk/blb-rack-chrome

I've had my 2015 croix de fer set up with 700c and 650b. 700c x 38mm compass tyres with SKS guards and 650b x 42mm gravel kings with velo orange 52mm 650b zeppelin mudguards shown in pics. You get a bit of toe overlap with 700c set up. Built 650b wheels myself, mavic 419 on novatec hubs.
I've recently been coveting the Mason Bokeh. -

How about burnt bronze like the 2015 croix de fer.
Inspired by your green croix de fer I decided to build some 650b wheels for my own. Previously I was running with Compass Barlow pass 700x38mm tyres (great tyres btw) but now have 650Bx42mm Panaracer Gravel King tyres for even more comfort. Took it off road toady and it handled really well. One of the benefits of 650b is I no longer have any toe overlap issues. Reckon I could fit a 650Bx48mm compass tyres too. Looking forward to riding the trans pennine trail on it in May.

Thanks for the reply about the brakes.
I made mudflaps from A4 polypropylene sheet from eBay. You can get it in various thicknesses. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171969488811
