I have an old inherited pair of Ruark Sabre speakers circa 1995 and it’s time to sell on. Other than eBay where might be a good place list them? If there’s any interest here I’d be happy to share more details. No idea what they’re worth. Cabinets have scuffs etc and potentially one tweeter dome dented, I need to unpack them for a closer look. Located in Bath.

I want to box in some bits that run the length of a bedroom wall. It'll be a span of 3.5m, 1.2m tall and 0.3m deep. I was going to build some studwork then cover in 9mm MDF, mantlepiece thing on top and beading for a panelling effect then paint. Can't see any tongue and groove type MDF in the pattern my wife wants. Should I consider plasterboard instead of the MDF? Main concern is getting a neat join between the MDF or plaster sheets spanning the width not sure how to approach.

As a first furniture project I was going to make some Rietveld inspired Lounge Sofas like the Hay ones for our garden. Like This
145x19mm planed larch because I found some for cheap (relatively). What screws would you use to attach the 1.2m seat and back sections to the arms?
Hay use dowel and maybe confirmat(?) screws, looking at the instructions. So I could do the same.
Or could I get away with just 8x80mm Stainless Screws, like Spax Universal T20 partial thread, or similar -
Thanks for taking a look, I’ll give that temp fix a go.
The repair sounds like more work than I had hoped and it’ll drive me crazy if the new tiles and ridge don’t match as It’s all visible from the ground as well as house. I have two spare tiles ready from a neighbour and an architectural salvage place nearby has similar too. I’m not so sure about the ridge.

The local window cleaner has put his foot through some tiles on our kitchen roof, where they meet a ridge. He’s promised he’ll get it fixed through a roofer nephew but I can’t see it happening before the next bout of rain so I want to try and get temporarily watertight whilst we thrash out how or who is going to fix. Particularly frustrating as last time he was round I was on the roof fixing something else and asked if he could leave the back windows and not ever climb on the roof as I couldn’t face having to fix anything else.
I was going to buy some plastic sheet drape over the ridge and secure, then cover the broken area and secure down the sides with tapering the bottom edge open - does this approach sound sensible?
Does anyone know what ballpark cost I might be looking at if we get someone in?

Hey, Thanks for replying, I’ll drop you a pm if we’re still looking. Good luck! I’ve got a feeling we’ll grab something before then to keep everyone sane.
@sacredhart This is indeed plan B. We’ve had a balance bike for 6months which she hasn’t been able to master and gets frustrated. She’s played on friends bikes with stabilisers and trikes and is so happy. I just want her to have fun and enjoy it all then figure out the rest of it

I’m looking for some Islabikes Cnoc 14 stabilisers for delivery to or collection from Bath.
https://www.islabikes.co.uk/products/cnoc-14-stabilisers
I’m sure someone has some gathering dust and thought I’d check before shelling out for new.
Can’t wait for our little one to start pedalling.
Thanks

I need to repair our front door frame, chopping out (it crumbled away) a 30cm rotten section at the bottom and joining a replacement piece of wood.
I can get either of the below today, which would you choose? Would I need to treat the planned hardwood too?
Hardwood Planed Timber Prepared Red Grandis
Or
Regularised Treated Sawn Timber C24 -

Any suggestions on how best to repair the lip/ edges where the plasterboard sheets meet on this velux?
It’s in a bathroom, extending through the roof cavity. Planning history and repercussions suggest the Original work was a little slapdash. Roof space is pretty cold but well ventilated due to gutters running internally. Old house etc.
Would I be right in thinking insulating the structure would have been a good way of reducing condensation?

Ethernet cabling advice... Wasn't sure if I should post here, PC or DIY threads.
What ethernet cable type should I be looking for a run of 20m internal and 20m external?
Cat6e, Cat7, Cat8, solid, shielded. Any go to shops.Through house to garden office.
Eero Pro at each end.
Would be great to future proof things.Cat5a was installed by the previous owner and already has a repair mid way along. Connection is becoming a little flaky and maxes out at 100Mbps.
Our broadband has just been upgraded from 500Mbps to 1Gbps and I'm thinking about upgrading the wifi setup to take advantage of it. We have a few wifi6 devices. There's a drawing of the current setup below. There's no practical way of getting a cable from the front of the house to the back of the house. Two of us WFH so plenty of video calls and design docs being uploaded/downloaded. 25m garden and 120sq.m house.
CEX sell Eero Pro 6 and Eero Pro 6E for as low as £40-60 a unit so I'm considering just buying those - understanding I might have to find three not locked to an ISP. Is there better way of doing it for similar cash?
