Thanks both - I think i'll go with the Zenith for it's wide availability and common use.
I did also call a wheel builder to explain the project I'm trying to do, and they were very pessimistic about starting with what is a road rim (in their words: designed for the road hub it's built onto) and then trying to lace onto a track hub. They said the angles of the nipple holes drilled into the rim might not marry up perfectly with the angles of the holes in the new hub.
I didn't realise their could be so many intricacies involved here, either way, they didn't say it couldn't be done, I might just have to keep calling round a few builders to get their opinion.
Anyone done this before? (Road rim to track hub)

Circling back on this - I'd rather not break the bank on this hub, have found two options: DT Swiss or Zenith.
DT Swiss, 24h, 336g, £79:

Thoughts?

Hi all,
I'm going to be adding a front brake in the not too distant future - the forks have a pre-existing hole, but I'm being a bit precious about the inevitable bite/paint chip that can occur where the brake clamps to the fork.
Can a rubber washer/seal be put in between so the fork hole stays presentable for when a brake isn't on?
Thanks.

Hi all,
I want to replace the hub on the wheel below (Vision TC24 carbon 20mm) to a fixed hub to go on a track bike.
Is this just as simple as purchasing a 24- hole track hub and then relacing or will different spokes be required too?
And as for the hub - any recommendations/suggestions on fairly light 24-hole track hubs + spokes if needed?
Thanks in advance.

It's called an advert man, I could bleat till the cows come home that it's one-off because it has it's own issue number on it, (72/92 - did I mention that?) but clearly that holds no importance to you, IT MAY DO TO THE PERSON WHO THIS AD IS DIRECTED AT (NOT YOU).
It is also quite literally a collectors item, given that they made a specific amount of them, never to be done again.
Am I being trolled for the sake of it here? Do I need to pull the massive hook out of my cheek or..?

Invite balanced input to steer to the accurate description? Whatever happened to "it's only worth as much as someone will pay for it?"
You'll see above, I don't want just anyone buying this, I want it to go to the right place. The right person will understand the ad, so I don't need the ad police chortling all over it, as fun as this evening as been, really!!
You don't like, you wouldn't pay, that doesn't offend me at all.

Update: Arup in Sydenham turned this around in just a couple of days. Fantastic service. I went for the Zenith hub and he laced it with existing nipples and new Sapim spokes.
Happy days.
