Friday finally!

Gotcha. Looking back at the map and the flights my friends had, I think I would have been fine if I had made a beeline for the valley. But I hung a bit around the launch site hoping to gain some height, and instead sunk just enough to get in the turbulent air.

Quite - but I think I got myself on the lee side of a peak or two on the way down.

Nice hike & fly this morning in Ceillac. Got surprised by how rough the air was on the way down, and got a couple of collapses for my trouble!

Not the canonical GMT as it's two 12-hours scales, but I really like the Sinn 144 Ti.

At least I guess there won't be any discussion about the logo on that new Christopher Ward

Morning hike and fly to / from Col des Frêtes. Don’t trust people who tell you it’s a two hours walk up! Great, great flight though.

@ACRe19 GR91 seems to fit that bill quite well - start from Grenoble (train from Paris, bus or hike up to Saint Niziers), 4 or 5 days of easy hike in a nature reserve down to Die (no, mr Bond…) or Crest, return to Paris by night train. Camp or sleep in mountain huts.

Maybe on the shorter side depending on your pace, throw in an ascent of the Grand Veymont if you’re making good time :-)

I’ve definitely seen some paraglider pilots with similar gear strapped onto them, but wouldn’t have a specific brand or name to recommend as I haven’t looked into that myself. Not sure they’d be waterproof as people usually don’t fly when it’s rainy, but you never known. Maybe look at Neo or other makers?

Hello there, what are the options nowadays for tubeless 650b road+ tyres? I’m normally using WTB Horizons but would maybe like a change after two sidewall punctures.

I’ve seen gravelking slick in 650bx48 and schwalbe g-one speed in 50 - any recommendation for either, or something else I might have missed ?
