also @cryptthing
JBL Clip 3 is out and I've got one. Carabiner is part of the case rather than attached to silicone/rubber like on model 2. Feels sturdy like the rest of the device.Website doesn't mention Android (or iPhone for that matter), so not sure about functionality but they wouldn't miss out on that market would they?
The buttons are on the front top of the speaker, and fairly big. You feel the click when adjusting without looking, and can kind of tell which one you're pressing. Was fine adjusting volume and forwarding when attached to a Carradice Pendle (speaker facing forward, right behind my thigh if that makes sense?).
BIG bass, too big indoors, just fine outdoors. Fairly heavy but I think it's average for products of this size.
Bluetooth is very quick to connect.
Hope this helps.
Although that Bose a few posts above looks sexier:) And maybe the attachment is better for on-bag or handlebars.

My first ever DD, enjoyed it a lot, but not sure yet how I feel about sleep deprivation for the sake of a ride. Interested how others motivate and manage? Do you go about Sunday as normal -- I did, to not mess with the rhythm of being awake during the day and sleeping at night. Zombie mode.
Left at 9pm and arrived at the beach at 6.30, comfortable/easy pace, WTB Nano's rollllll and hummmm. One longer stop at The Cyclist and a few shorter one's. Had a different pace from my friend so rode alone, or found groups to follow for pacing, eventually got talking to a stranger so we rode together chatting, lost him and then found again an hour before the beach.
Coach back, took 4 hours with the driver missing the last turn to Surrey Quays, 20 minutes later we turned around and arrived. Feel spoiled by the luxury or taking a pre-arranged coach and truck carrying your bike. I guess we're supporting a local business (I think?) so that's cool.
Surprised by the amount of puncture repairs that went on on the roadside -- perhaps LBSs could benefit from pre-ride checkups and advice?
Stoked to have seen people of wildly different ages, different genders, accents, etc. I hope it continues to be an inclusive event and improves in aspects I may have missed.
2019? Maybe.

Room for one more?
Can bring a spacious 3 person + gear tipi tent outer (<1kg and very compact so no worries lugging that) in case weather is crap. Or bivi under the stars preferred.
Cooking/water boiling paraphernalia.
Happy to help with navigation -- sounds like you will know more at the planning stage, but I'm okay with actually calling out the turns as we go.

Recent favorite comfort food: kimchi fried rice.
Based on this: https://www.maangchi.com/recipe/kimchi-bokkeumbap
Kim Kong Kimchi (can be ordered online) tastes awesome, vegan, and is made somewhere in the UK.
Mod to the recipe above: didn't bother getting red pepper paste (gochuang) so just used tomato paste. Suggest using brown rice, I slightly undercook it. Tempeh works well in this. Sesame oil is essential though. One of those "even better the next day" dishes. oh god I want this so much now.....

Not sure about your friend's budget, selling my single-speed, not dirt cheap though: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/322477/
I'm 6ft and it fits me really well.
Happy to offer it without the basket. Cheers -
For sale is this beloved fair weather commuter. Bought 5 years ago from Gumtree, converted to single-speed about a year ago. Light, comfy upright position, fast gear ratio but still good in the hills.
Frame is in good condition, paint chipped off in many places.
Newly fitted in the last couple of months: chain, brake pads, pedals, bar tape, headset.
Fitted just over a year ago: chainring, sprocket, brake levers, cables, tyres, handlebars.IMPORTANT: left side bottom bracket plastic cup is stuck. Removal effort can be seen in the photos, plastic gave in. The BB metal body was successfully removed without issues and threads coated with anti-seize. Bottom bracket runs super smooth, no immediate need for replacement. When you do decide to replace it, the plastic side can be removed with a hacksaw without damaging the frame.

Been using it for a few years now, but haven’t caught the lift staff days. Shame, as I’ve read in the tunnel thread (or dreamt ?) that they would call out bad behavior.
Today was one of the worst examples really. Seen all kinds of things, even pedestrians pretend-attack someone cycling, didn’t get physical though.
Witnessed the LED displays being installed, displaying No Cycling Allowed for a few months, then they went off a year or maybe more ago and nothing since then. Smells of corruption if I may get political at this point.
I walk through the tunnel and carry the bike up and down the stairs. So this is funny: he overtook me just before Seyssel St junction, we both went straight. That’s 700m to the tunnel. I was riding slow, I used the stairs. Then in the tunnel we met around half way before the flat bit. If that’s not an argument for slower commute then I don’t know what is.

Ugh this grinds my gears so much.
To the guy on a single-speed with a Restrap bum bag in the Greenwich tunnel - you’re an idiot!
On the road before the tunnel - flew past me as close as possible without touching - ffs why?
In the tunnel - bombed that downhill dude nice one 10/10 bet that chain barely held up under your million watts! Right through the middle of the tunnel, again nearly annihilating me (walking), then through the crowds further down ..........

Was very happy with this recently, nothing too exciting as still same old (insert name)nut butter but in a format I haven't done before.
Basic idea is that it stores in a resealable jar, doesn't go bad for days and is convenient to consume.Start with: mixing nut butter(s) with jam(s) with coconut oil.
Eyeballed it, but probably 2 parts nutty stuff, 1 p jam, 1 p coco oil.Compatible with sporks, crackers, toast, etc. and most importantly on its own.
Next batches will be tested with: salt, yeast flakes, spices, dates, ...Can vouch for combo of crunchy almond butter, smooth pb, fig preserve, coconut oil.
