Having problems uploading photos....

I bought this about 3 years ago, described as a 'barely used' cassette. At the time I was really struggling to find a Dura Ace 12-21 cassette. Sods law......as soon as I'd bought the HG-70 a DA cassette came up and this has sat in my parts box ever since. Never even fitted.

I have had a really good look at it and it does indeed appear to have been little used with no rust or deep wear at all. I have taken a few photos and can take as many more as required. It weighs in at 250gm which is stupidly light; much lighter than a DA 12-21 which seems weird.

Looking for £18 + postage (£3.20) assuming paypal gift.

This is a huge long shot but the lower clamp on my trusty old Easton D/A seatpost has cracked rendering the seatpost useless. Totally gutted.

It's a 27.2 seatpost and I really just need a clamp but would consider a complete seatpost. Have included a couple of photos.

I have a Cro-mo Fabric Line saddle in a 134mm and that is pretty much perfect for 130mm sit bone measurement. I bought it as my sit bones are also 130mm. However, I was glad I bought the 134mm! That's available, in good condition and little wear, for £15 + postage.
All I will say is try to check out some 'test saddles' in a bike shop as you may find a wider saddle may suit you better. I have gone up to 144mm Fabric Line saddle and to be honest I'm not sure if I don't need something a little wider!

I think this is good advice and the idea of buying a hammered post on Ebay makes perfect sense. Somebody said that some of the the Shimano clamps were very similar/the same so you never know! Thanks again.......

Thanks AlphaOmega, really helpful advice. I have actually had to buy a new seatpost just to keep me on the bike but it seems such a waste to ditch a really nice light seatpost. I thought I could keep it as a spare if I could get hold of another clamp. Any idea where you can buy the clamps?

I have a really nice Easton seatpost and unfortunately the lower section of the seat rail clamp has broken (please see photos) and I'm unsure whether I'm going to have to ditch the seatpost altogether. I can't find any info on replacement clamps so I'm guessing they don't exist?
I assume that seapost clamps aren't 'standard' and therefore I won't be able to use a clamp from another seatpost on the Easton? Any info would be very much appreciated. Cheers!

Hi Vince......my existing seatpost has a cracked clamp so not really swap material!! :)

Need a 27.2 mm seatpost. Ideally alloy/silver Prefer around 200mm long but can go up to 300mm.

Many thanks for that and not surprising that they ditch the higher grade components first. Also good to know that most cassettes are compatible. I'm guessing the HG-70 will work fine.

I am running a DuraAce 7400 8 speed cassette along with mostly DA 7400 components including DA hubs. Need a new cassette and am finding extreme difficulty locating a NOS 7400 so have been looking at alternatives. Not masses of options!

I reckon the closest I can get is a Shimano HG-70 cassette which I think will be compatible but unsure what quality this is and if it is definitely compatible.

Are there any other high quality cassettes than are compatible with 7400?

What sort of quality is the HG-70 cassette? I can see it's almost twice the weight of the DA cassette but can cope with that as long as it works well.

Had the same experience as bike_knob. Ordered something and was emailed to say it wasn't in stock but would be in 4 days time and then it would be sent 'express'. It did arrive eventually but it wasn't sent express. Can't see they'll get repeat custom with this attitude. I won't use them again.

Huge long shot here but trying to find a new, NOS or lightly used DA 7401 8 speed cassette. Or........something of this quality that is compatible.

I am seriously considering what I'm told is a 10 year old Airborne Zeppelin road bike. The spec is good and it seems to fit my needs perfectly but then I decided to do a bit of reading and there was a bizarre mix of very positive and very negative reviews from owners. The main negative seems to be welds cracking which of course isn't great news but the positives sung its praises.

I'd be really grateful for any advice/views.......many thanks!!!
