Great topic. I intend on going there in January. Probably January 2017 though, doh.
From friends' experience - don't carry valuables in suitcase when traveling by bus, as you will be robbed.
And a few Thai friends advised that I should go North for nature/history attractions and also visit neighboring countries (as suggested in this topic).
I've an idea of taking a flights to Singapore and Hong Kong for a couple of nights each (local flights are cheap), since I'd be in the region already. This would offset the lack of visit to the Thai islands, that don't interest me too much.

About time I've started a topic about this (only a couple of years late!).
Some of you may be acquainted with my car and bicycle projects already but if not,
take a look at http://photos.cybernck.com and http://projects.205gtidrivers.com/205mi32Anyway, here's a story about my dynamic retro bicycle collection and experiments.
Although I had been lured by old bicycles for a number of years, this is the very one
that had started my voyage into the seductive world of vintage road and mountain bikes. Why exactly this one then? Because I had just built my latest carbon fibre road racing bike
with Dura Ace groupset while this Columbus-tubed oldie was equipped with full period Dura Ace
groupset as well. And I must add I was very pleasantly surprised by its function.Old vs new - it felt pretty cool to own such a pair of bikes, although I later found out that
I had seriously overpaid the old one. Oh well... :-)(to be continued)

As per the title, are any forum members into engineering work and/or chroming?
What I need to do is get a steerer shaft of one fork swapped to another and then the fork polished and chromed (currently in primer).
It's easier for me to send the forks to the UK for a refurb than deal with the local muppets...
Thanks, Nikica.
You will have more luck in the Wanted subforum :)
