Hey guys, as the title suggests, I'm looking for some advice, I have a relatively stock Surly Steamroller which I love but have recently moved and it's a struggle to commute on now due to how hilly the area is. I looked at buying a new setup but I am intrigued about potentially putting a 3/8 speed hub on it with a gates carbon belt. Can anyone help out where I'd be best to look to figure out if this would be possible / what i'd need to buy. I'm relatively mechanically inept and looking for any suggestions or advice! Thanks in advance

cheers dude, feels solid so far and looks really nice. I spoke to a guy in a bike shop at lunch and he recommended putting the fitting bracket on the inside of the wheel hub bolts instead of the outside? I'm just conscious that the nut doesnt sit within the little lip of the dropout eyelets anymore (can kinda see what i mean in the second picture)

I know a bunch of you guys have got the Pelago commuter front rack, could you give me a head sup as to whether or not i'm going to die riding this? The instructions are super sketchy and with the quick release bolt on the Steamroller I'm not 100% convinced i've got this right?
It feels relatively solid but I dunno how i feel about the dropouts just relying on straight tightness to be held in. Am i doing something wrong or is this as it's supposed to look? Any advice appreciated. Cheers guys
*ignore the super loose nuts on the actual rack, i've not tightened it all up yet, just a bit worried about the dropouts

Cheers for the advice mate, I really appreciate it. Grabbed a couple of parts today, got a cinelli pepper rise and a cinelli dinamo stem with a slight angle, going for more of a laid back vibe for commuting so will probably flip the stem. I thought about getting a riser stem but think it'll be a bit too much and read good things about the dinamo. Gonna check out the Orbit as i've heard good things from a couple people now and considerably cheaper than the CK! Feel like this bike is such a do it all it'll be nice to collect a couple different parts and easily swap each of them out for whatever im doing on that day on.

Just bought a de-badged second hand surly Steamroller in drink more water, took it out today and it's so much damn fun! Just wondered if anyone here had any recommendations for a few components, I want to swap some stuff out straight away and leave some stuff for a later date.
Any recommendations for the following would be really appreciated:
Headset - currently running the stock cane creek and it feels a bit meh, heard CK is the best option? What exact headset of theres would I need and are there any decent cheaper alternatives?
Bars - running some old risers that are chrome and don't fit the look, any small risers or flats that work well on the roller?
Front racks - Any that fit the roller as it doesn't have any info on the Surly page (doesn't seem to fit any of their racks?)
Cheers guys!!

Hey all,
I'm in the market for a new bike and have been looking at the 8bar frames and full builds. I'm really busy at the moment and don't have time to put together a build so looking at getting something that I can just jump straight on. Does anyone have any experience / opinion on 8bar, I'm really into their new FHAIN Steel frame and like the idea of trying a steel for commuting.
Are their components they use in their builds cheap crap or are they half decent for the price?
Cheers in advance,

Hey all,
I'm selling my Cannondale Supersix Evo 105 due to lack of use. I have had it around 8 months but unfortunately I've come to admit that it is not the bike for me. It is currently collecting dust after only a couple uses. I'd say it's done less than 100 miles, it's in absolutely as new condition.
Full specs can be seen here:
https://www.tritoncycles.co.uk/road-bikes-c5/road-c37/supersix-evo-carbon-105-road-bike-2017-p16505I'm looking for £950, collection only from Nottingham
Any questions let me know,
Thanks
Hey @_mono it is yes!
