Tiny bird just a #spoonful

I did this traditional for of king Fu for a few years. In the old manuals translated to English in the 50s it said you only need one small cup of tea a day. No water especially cold water.
The adherents to this piece of insanity were easy pickings by the end of a long day training. All wobbly and tunnel visioned

Can anyone explain the drinking shitloads of water thing?
I know there was some guff science saying drink two litres or something like 20 years ago, and at the same time yeah we should be hydrated
But is there a new angle to this that I am miss in my old fart ways?
Is it like fitbits? The adverts show a lean beautiful person, but the target demographic are potato people? If you are a little spud-u-like that’s cool I’m just trying to highlight the disparity.
Anyway what’s with the giant water bottles. Is it about pissing? Do they drink to piss every 15 mins? Plz explain

Adductor Tendinitis update:
Weirdly fading fast (touch wood) almost a year of this and finally it’s no longer playing a loud solo of pain (it’s still in the band but has stepped back from the spotlight)
My training is now 5-6km with a sprint or hill, and then a LSR of 15-20km at the weekend with light weights & rehab in between
Completely stopped cycling for 2 months and I think that is what brought about the improvements.
Slowly reintroducing the bike

Watching “Say Nothing”
Real not sure what to think about this. A bit too soon? At the same time it’s good to show how things have moved on. Culturally I kind of straddle the divide and it’s part of a lot of our history in a way.
I’m reminded of being on a French exchange watching the news and seeing war footage of helicopters and mortar fire and machine guns and hedgerows and armoured vehicles and country lanes that looked like home and then realising it was Northern Ireland and the war we weren’t allowed to see in Britain.
Coming back home and hearing an actor read Gerry Adams’s statements. -

Saw Folk Implosion last night
Good fun, had a chat with Lou, he’s still amusing . They were a lot less drunk than last time I saw them and I’m not normally one to bang on about bass players, but he is really fucking good in an understated way.
Ok with a 2 piece there’s more to do, but still he’s a master without being showy.Support from TLK who did that hard trick of being a unknown to 99% of the audience and winning them over

I have been blighted for about 35 years with a crackling input on my Bass.
I send it to a a bloke to fix it and he charges me money, fixes it and gives it back.
I got a crackle the other day and thought..ok I’ll tackle this myself. YouTube told me to roll some sandpaper into a tube, shove it in the Jack and scratch about a bit. This fixed the crackles. I then did it to a couple of crackly old amps.
Have I been paying tens of pounds to people to just do this for 3 decades?

After holding on round one of the hardest half’s around last weekend and not dying or snapping an adductor, my wife has entered me into the Bath Half in March.
The last time I did a flat Half was about 8 years ago and I got 1:31.
At my age(50s) , I think I’ve got maybe one more fast one (for me)in me. Something around 1:30.
I have 4 ish months to get there and adductor tendinitis that means I have to not run more than twice a week. (I can cycle and do weights). How do I get there?
What is the training plan? -

I’m looking at the targeting of education and it’s looking like Trump is aiming to crystallise a class system to ensure the masses who can afford a private education are the only ones who will get an education.
Ok there are already huge wealth disparities and have been for ever, but he’s building the wall in his own society

My only bit of advice for cyclists turned runners is to ease off a bit and build distance gradually.
A total beginner with no cardio fitness will run out of puff before they do any damage to themselves and so as they improve fitness they can go for further and longer on a natural curve.
As you have plenty of cycling unde your belt, you don’t have the lack of fitness acting as a safety net before you do yourself a mischief.
