A few years back I hired a Scott Addict Road bike to mess about in the Alps. It was ok possibly a little too big, bars definitely too wide, but far lighter than what I normally ride. As a whole the bike was vanilla at best, despite the terrain being amazing.

A couple of years later back in the alps hired another addict from the same shop. They only had smalls, it was too small, it was painful on my back, but it was utterly brilliant to ride, the conditions were shit…pissing rain, high winds. I had to be out of the saddle for comfort for most of the time. If I had the money I would have bought that inappropriate bike.

Bought a rose Aluminium road bike.
The geo was a tiny bit off and so I couldn’t get “in” the frame. It was pretty rapid and I did some good Strava ing but it felt like a chore. So I got rid.

A bike fit would probably have fixed the problem, but I was done with the bike.

Still struggling with the adductor tendon

So obviously I’m going to do the Bath Hilly Half as I haven’t done it for a few years.
I’ve found that only running 2 days a week with 3 days between runs means I don’t feel like my legs are being pulled off.

On Sunday I tapped out 10 miles in 1hr 15 with the attitude of sticking to a set pace seemed not to wreck me.

I don’t get on with wider boards, I used to ride them in the 80s & early 90s but adapted to popsicles in the 90s and never went back.

On the Sergio Mendes kick, I really got into his stuff in the mid 90s with the funk/easy listening/soul club thing that was going on.

His arrangements were the opposite of the music I normally listened to and played. It really gave a bit of balance to my headspace.
