It’s the large but only an 8”

I don’t get on with wider boards, I used to ride them in the 80s & early 90s but adapted to popsicles in the 90s and never went back.

On the Sergio Mendes kick, I really got into his stuff in the mid 90s with the funk/easy listening/soul club thing that was going on.

His arrangements were the opposite of the music I normally listened to and played. It really gave a bit of balance to my headspace.

Ok you have your SUV your dog on an extended leash at full stretch, it’s raining so of course you are carrying a pub parasol around as an umbrella and are standing at a choke point on the footpath. But where to go from there? Add few kg and chub up a bit? Wear the dryrobe? Get some shoes that have a far bigger footprint than your actual shoe size? Bigger phone? Shout? Adductor Tendinitis update

It’s still there, if I sprint or run uphill it’s brutal after I run and pretty painful during the run.

Running slower and with shorter strides is less painful.

I think that’s it to be honest, it’s not going away. I can’t see me ever not having it from now on. Rehab exercises help a bit, gobbling ibuprofen helps a bit, riding a bike helps a bit .

I met David Niven

I was 6 and was with my Dad in Cannes. David was walking towards us and my dad said hello to him thinking he was someone he knew.

David said “Hello dear boy, how is your son? “ and shook our hands grinning.
Dad realised, it wasn’t an old friend, but it was Niven as the legend strolled off down the street.

Paper Tiger was on TV a couple of days later.

So having met both, I can confirm Docherty doesn’t have Niven level charm

I “met” Docherty, we were soundchecking before being (3rd? 4th?) support act at the falcon?/bull&gate?/another Camden dive.

To his credit he came and watched for a bit with two girls hanging off him. They didn’t have a deal at that point but there was a queue up the street to get in.
